Far be it from me to complain about progress, success begets bigger and bigger is better and as we all now know BETTER NEVER REST....

But with all of this Better my memory recalls a time years ago when I was a Y-Boy and Sanford on Saturdays was anything but small...

We got to play before home games then watched from the east hill, begging for chin straps when the victory was sealed....

After the Y I watched from the trestle, do I watch the game, dodge the train or the drunks that would wrestle and roll down the hill....

Then finally as a student, tickets came with my fees, growth was inevitable, seats were added, the good ole days were gone like the breeze....

As a Bi-Centennial grad I left my hometown behind, never to return until the Chapel bell chimed for the 21 Championship and was I amazed...

Gone was Stegeman and my secret parking spot, seat rose skyward capped by Gillis bridge with a Teletron so huge the sun it does blot....

Now millions latter, another Natty flag flys and with 93 thousand with extra seats, I hoot, and holler with tears in my eyes....

Cause I now know that BIGGER IS BETTER and BETTER NEVER REST, every Saturday my close friend list balloons and Athens traffic is put to the test!

    GOOOOO DAWGS, SICEM!
