Overall, I was very impressed! When Matthew's contract is up, I hope Stetson is ready to be QB1.

Good article Mike. I agree...it was an uneven performance. But, considering it's his first NFL game with a brand new team after what?...2 weeks of "official practice"...I thought he did fantastic.

And, so did the key guys around him. LA should be tough to beat this year, no matter the QB...Stafford and/or Bennett. I have a feeling Payton is kicking around the idea of using both guys to mitigate late season injury and improve depth at the QB position going into the playoffs.

Bemnett obviously has a few things to work on...but. nothing he can't fix. Lol...and some of it is the "rise of old demons". He KNOWS how to fix those issues already. Some of it was old bad habit, that I thought he had conquered. Guess he needs a little more seasoning. IMO...he'll be fine, if he can "stay healthy". That is key.

He had me worried after one particular hit. Looked like he was wincing a little bit, while the guys were huddling up and he was getting the next play from the sideline. Apparently it wasn't injury...just pain. Lol

I will state this....Bennett looked better than Fields, Lawrence, Tua and some of the other high-dollar names I saw play, in their NFL debuts...which gives cause to believe, that Bennett may actually be a lot better than we all thought.

Nice to see Sports Illustrated and ESPN have upbeat reviews of SBIV's first NFL game ever, not just his alma mater's various fan-oriented sites 😁👍

DIDn't look too good to start but you could tell as the game went along he got is bearings. Made a couple of vintage SB throws into tight windows and a couple of nice escapes with his speed. He looked quick.

Spurrier won one national. In how many years? Saban won his first one at 55. Been a head coach for how many many years? I for one and tired of hearing what Spurrier thinks..If he was great he would have got it done a SC. He did quit on SC And the Redskins
