My 1st UGA home game was in 1973 at the age of 11. UGA played Clemson that Saturday, winning 31-14 if I remember correctly. Athens High grad Andy Johnson at QB, another Athens High grad at RB in Horace King, with Jimmy Poulos his running mate. Gene Washington, and Richard Appleby at WR to name a few, the name Glynn Harrison also comes to mind. It's been 50 years since that game but I remember it as if it were played last Saturday, simply because my dad was there with me..GoDAWGS!

Bill, I remember when my friend, Mark Symms, and his daughters attended that game with you. It was a very big deal for them, and for those close to him and his family. Thanks for mentioning that occasion.

    Nice article.

Could we have some football games?

    Go, Dawgs!

I was at the SC and LSU games in 2013 as well as the UT game last year. As far as comparing the noise, the UT game is the loudest game I have ever been to and I’ve been going to home games since 1982. Those 2 games in 2013, as well as the ND game a few years ago, were very loud, but not as loud as last year. We were loud from the start, stayed loud the entire game, and I believe we got even louder when it started raining. Go Dawgs!!
