Beck paid his dues, has the talent, has some quality experience. I'm looking forward to seeing him play. I hope Vandergriff gets some series each game, as well. He's up next.

Part of the story from 9/11/21 and the UAB game wasn't reported in this article. If you remember it leaked out that CBeck was going to start that game. Like Beck leaked it out that he was finally going to get his start and ellevated to QB1. That leak seemed premature and didn't seem to sit well w/CKS.

The time on campus, in the system seems to have readied CBeck for this moment. He looks very in command and poised in the pocket. The challenge will be to keep the pocket clean. With a less mobile QB, expect a lot of blitzes.

All true. Good news is he can scramble better than people are giving credit. Plus he has a quick release and is very accurate. Predicting a big year for Beck.

Yeah, one of my (admittedly many) pet peeves is this faulty dichotomy that every quarterback is either highly mobile, or a statue. If a more conventional pocket passer is nimble enough to move around in the pocket and sufficiently evade the rush in most situations, and is fast enough to get some good positive yardage when a lane opens up, then he's as mobile as he needs to be for his style of play. From what I've seen so far, this applies to Beck.

Kudos to Monken for swallowing his pride so to speak in that he told SB that he would/could never start at UGA and telling CKS I think SB gives us a better shot at winning!

CB is not Jake Fromm 2.0 concerning mobility. I think it was CKS who said that SB would win a foot race (4.5 40 )but the other QB's would be right behind him , just a step or two.

I went back and looked at Tim Tebow's 40 times and it was 4.72. Iwas shocked it was that slow( I know it's not THAT slow!)THat seems slow in comparison to some QB's but we never could seem to get a good lick on him when we played him. You don't have to be as fast as SB to be able to run well enough to evade pass rushers.
