ATHENS — Kirby Smart has done the best coaching job of his career, collectively, through the SEC portion of the schedule and should be the leading candidate to win many of the national coach of the year honors.

Why would you embed a video from the preseason while insinuating that it’s current?

"Other SEC programs have overcome hurdles and enjoyed strong seasons, but none match the historic stature of unanimous No. 1 and two-time defending champion Georgia."....Great job Mike, for all of the reasons you have listed, KS should be the COY! All this success amid the jungle of NIL and the TP.....2 more games and most probably 4, no matter the outcome, The Dawgs have The BEST DGD Coach of any year.

Thanks for the layout. Ole Mr Griff needs a Pat on the back. Only missed Mizzou in the east. And primarily just missed Miss in the west. Great job. Or luck. 😳

…and Ohio State was deserving of being #1 one when the Dawgs were second? The committee poll is fraught with university politics. Note the seeding last year as just one example. The committee was wanting/praying for an Ohio State vs. Michigan rematch for the NC. They failed to send UGA and TCU the memo. They got exactly what they deserved, a blowout of epic proportions and a virtual guarantee of a repeat NC once the Dawgs got past the Bucknuts!

"Smart, amazingly, did not win any of the national coach of the year honors either of the past two seasons despite Georgia capturing unprecedented back-to-back CFP Championship seasons. Smart’s only national coach of the year award came in 2017, when he was named the “George Munger” winner, a less-heralded COY trophy once named after Joe Paterno."

I won't be surprised to see Smart get dissed again for COY, be it a national award or the SEC version.

Same goes for OC Mike Bobo, who in his first year has produced a record setting top-5 QB from a first-time starter. Moreover, all of that was accomplished while dealing with and overcoming the loss of starters on every level of the offense.

Look at how Georgia was disrespected by the Joe Moore award. Anybody who doubts that, should just pull up Georgia and Michigan's playoff game performances. Georgia's O-line dominated - Michigan's got exposed.

All of this is proof that Georgia, unlike media-darlings like Michigan and Ohio St has to earn everything they get, and even when they do, some will still bend over backwards to deny the university of Georgia.

"To be clear, the 2023 squad is not a finished version, and for all its success to date there is unfinished business ahead to establish this season as a success." - MG

I disagree Mike on several points. Frist of all, I believe the Kentucky win was the coming out party for Georgia this year. So much hype going into that game. The amount of rushing yardage that the Wildcats put on Florida the week before, the fact they were undefeated, etc...how many times have we seen Kentucky rise up, only to be put down HARD by the Dawgs? Then, Kentucky as the team always does, goes into a tail spin afterwards losing games they should win. This is the "Georgia Effect", the Dawgs basically broke the Wildcats, again. Georgia did the same thing to Alabama when winning the Natty against them. They haven't been the same for 2 years afterward, only latter part of this season are they starting to gel and look like Bama again.

Secondly, per your statement above, I think no matter what happens the remainder of this year, this has been a successful season for the Dawgs. Undefeated AGAIN during the regular season. Undefeated AGAIN in the SEC for the third straight year, continuing to KILL our rivals.

What's not to like? Now, yes, there is some unfinished business for sure.

First, let's BEAT Tech and KILL the winning streak for consecutive games that the two Bama teams have (Bryant and Stallings). Secondly, let's put the Bama folks out of their misery, they are boasting that we can't beat them. Let's beat them in the SECCG and put them down HARD. It's time for Kirby and crew to show that Saban no longer runs college football and that they are not the favorite when playing Georgia. We have to go to Tuscaloosa next year, so let's not give them any talking points or momentum leading into that game. ALSO, let's show Kirk H (ESPN) that we can indeed count Saban and Bama out. (Remember earlier in the year when he said Bama would be back and win it all? You know he is secretly pulling for Bama so that he can be proven right.) Let's prove him wrong!

Then, let's tackle the 3-peat in the playoffs and natty. Let's let the world know that the dawgs can rebuild and nothing changes, the same ole, same ole. GO DAWGS !

I saw where Mizzou has 4 players nominated for being the best at their position. Good for them. That speaks to their really good year for them. Gotta have players! Go Dawgs!

As far as KS goes we know he's the best and so does everyone else. HIs record speaks for itself. Everything else is just politics and smugery.
