Ohio St had 12 guys enter the portal in 1 day including their 5 star WR Fleming and their Starting QB.
this I don’t understand. Other than financial hardship as with no scholarship. He played a key role with the dawgs in 2023.
I hate to hear about this one. I felt Mekhi had a bright future with the Dawgs. Hope he lands in a great spot. Seems like a great kid. Good luck Mekhi! Go Dawgs!
This is a puzzle unless Mews is looking for a payday in the portal. He was fortunate to be taken by Kirby as a walk-on. He is a bit of a ingrate. The fans liked him. Leaves a bit of a sour taste in my mouth. Maybe he wanted a scholarship and was denied. Dillon Bell can more than make up for his absence.
NIL? In other markets, he'd be higher profile vs in Athens/Greater Atlanta where he is far less prominent than other players well up the stack...
While he was dangerous once he CAUGHT the ball on punt returns you held your breathe till he did. Good luck to him.
Great story, but Anthony Evans shows more promise as a returner and receiver. Most of Mews highlights came against lesser opponents. He would light it at smaller schools!
Mews accomplished his goal: to get noticed. Now, he's seeking a better fit and more playing time. Georgia Southern, Georgia State, and Kennesaw State would be good landing places for him.
He was going to be passed on the depth chart by last year's wide receiver recruits like Anthony Evans, as well as, any coming in from the portal. Kirby doesn't generally discuss scholarships, but I am sure Mews is looking for one and should be able to at another school. If Ladd had been healthy this year, Mews may not have seen the field.
Mews deserves a scholarship and I wish him the best.....I believe he is good enough, given his experience to go power 5.....just not lizzard Land in Gainsville!

Mews has been a good Dawg. He performed as well as he could when called upon. He worked hard to improve w/o a scholarship (as far as I know). Scholarships will be tight at UGA with all the needs (DL, WR, S,?) . All for Mews going to a less prominent program (GT?) for a bigger role AND a scholarship. Good luck! He was a good returner.
Would luv 2 go after Ohio State WR Julian Fleming n the portal before bama snatches him. This talented WR had a great game against us n last yrs semi-final. Ohio State usually has elite WRs like bama had n the past.
