If Chambliss is starting at LB for Georgia next season, Coach Schumann’s defense is gonna be in deep 💩 .

He is not starter material and never has been.

Playing time off the bench? He’s serviceable. But he does not have the speed, muscle twitch or abilities that the 5 ⭐️ recruits have.

Down vote me all you want, but that’s the hard truth.

I realize that so far all we’ve seen is those players going Out. And because of the volume going out, by appearance it seems sort of spooky. BUT I’m gonna hold up my judgements until Kirby has time to show who’s coming In. That Transfer Portal thing ain’t a One Way Door you know.

I bet Kirby and staff are doing Allot of shuffling and dealing that we don’t see, Yet. And in the end I Believe he and staff will deliver Better maybe even Far better coming In than what’s going Out. My advice to my fellow Dawgs fans would be Fear Not till this thing is done for the year. The portal is open Twice in off season correct ??

I bet Kirby & company will shuffle and deal through the players available to find those best suited to UGA. They might Not be better suited to other programs, but He and they will weed through and get the guys that will high light the HS recruiting class he’s bringing in. And the finished product will meet the UGA culture.

That “ UGA Culture” is vastly vital to 2024 success and years beyond !! Gotta be very careful not to bring in someone toxic to the locker room. To people outside our fan base it’ll sound cliche. But Kirby, his Staff, the Program, and the Fan Base want players that WANT to be Dawgs. Guys who Want to be Challenged. To be Elite. And work hard to Get Better and Stay Elite on a long term basis.

That’s UGA. That’s Dawgs. That’s future high draft pick NFL. You gotta be Willing to take punishing practices to play at UGA as a Consistent Starter especially. If your not willing to do that, then Best Wishes to you and there’s the door. And if you Do cop out and still make it to the NFL, don’t act surprised when that former Dawg beats you on the field there to !! Go Dawgs !!

Guess we won't see Marvin Jones Jr commercials for the GA law firm anymore now.

OK my fellow Dawgs fans. Take this next comment with a grain of salt. I’m NOT necessarily saying that Any coach should be showed the road at this juncture. I Am saying that NO Coach should be above review and reproach though.

Some folks will say Oh he must be talking about Bobo. Nope, not even close. Bobo Did win 12 straight with a brand new ( As Starter) QB and a banged up Offense that stayed that way pretty much all season.

No actually I’m looking at the Defense. YES we lost Tons of talent to the NFL. So there’s valid Reasons. And Reasons are more valid than Excuses. But Even With the guys going to the NFL after Lanning left, the Defense seemed to wilt.

The Offense Could’ve and Should’ve done better in the SECCG granted. But they did put up 24 points. The Defense was Equally if not More culpable in that loss in my humble view. And they just didn’t play like a Georgia Defense ( with a few small exceptions) all year long.

I think in my humble opinion it’d be ludicrous to Fire Bobo after a 12 straight win regular season. He earned At Least ( stress on at least) another year. And again I’m Not saying just arbitrarily Fire ANY Coach. But if I were the AD and/or Kirby I’d Stress NO pay raise AND the Danger of losing your job for Less Than Elite Coaching Performance !!

If we have just as an example a 4 or 5 star LB that’s say a Sophomore that’s had quite a few Real Game snaps but he ain’t that great. The question begs to be answered Why ?? Now apply that to ANY position on the team.

I Know sometimes there are Issues that go Beyond the ability to coach them up or out of bad habits. But those I would think are rare. I guess what I’m saying in summary is I want More out of these highly paid coaches.

If a guy has Natural talent, proper size for his position, speed, etc. Then I Expect even some what demand that the coaches Refine those traits and make that Very Good out of HS, Elite!! The player wants that to !! As he probably has ambitions of playing in the NFL. So Coaching takes Allot of being vested into Hard Work to. Any Coach not willing to do that should be given Best Wishes and showed the door !! Just my take.

IMO...Chambliss may not set the world on fire. But, he's a darned good "Football player" that gives it 110%...every down.

I got no problem with a player like him. If I were a HC...I'd take 85 of em. Solid tackler, smart, and stays ahead of the play, with his eyes in the right place...[on 90% of the downs I watched him specifically].

He did a pretty good job of setting the edge, against Bama in the 4th qtr., and turning Milroe or the RB inside...to the teeth of the defense...which is his job. It's not his fault...the rest of the defense has been lame and operating at about 80%... [IMO].

But, so did Jones III. He outplayed Jones, IMO. Jones' basics needed a lot of work. He would be in the right place...but, fail to make the tackle or make a play in some other way. Another year or 2 of seasoning, would've had him on Chambliss' level.

But...let me be fair. Jones is a true Freshman...while Chambliss is a seasoned veteran. So..there's that. Jones was probably about where Chambliss was last year, in development.

You could do a lot worse, than playing behind Chambliss, on the depth chart. That's all I'm sayin'.

    I think you're on-the-money. Ding...ding...ding. Lol

I think the Leaders eligible to move-on...will all, announce at pretty much the same time. I think they're collecting Draft information, NIL Offers, weighing their options and trying to work out which leaders are going to stay......to defend their legacy and provide the "Starter Dough" for Kirby's next loaf of bread.

My guess is...Kirby already knows what he's getting...to replace the outgoing players.

There are two Texas A&M guys, he was chasing in 2021, available, after they entered the TP last week. The former 2021 #1 Overall [Nolan] is one of em. I think he's gonna get both. They were part of the same recruiting class Bear Alexander was in. And, he's supposed to be better. Actually, I think both guys are.

Juice Wells out of Carolina is another Hot Prospect. Kirby won't being any of em in, if they don't mesh with the team's culture. That's probably the #1 disqualifier, besides academics and eligibility remaining.

UGA's gettin' theirs. You can bet THAT. I think Kirby has been feeding his surplus talent [recruits] to Dan Lanning, Nick Saban and GT. Lol...now he's gonna front Syracuse a few players, to get them started. Ya gotta love Kirby. Lol

Kirby is probably the best roster manager, I've ever seen. Second to none. So...in all things regarding this portal business...I defer to Kirby and his staff. I have no doubt they are on top of it. I just wish they could share the vision without giving away strategy to the competition.

All we can do...is watch, guess and be thankful for the fine young men God sends Athens' way. Wish Kirby could take em all...but, that's just not possible.

The way i see it...Kirby picks the Apples from the top of the tree. And, makes a pretty fine Apple Cider out of some of the better ones, laying on the ground. The ones others walk over to get to the low hanging fruit. Lol...he makes the best Apple Pie in the Country.

Yep. Your spot on. The guys that Really want to be Elite, AND are willing to put in the necessary Work to Earn it will come play for Kirby. They can See just like we do how many guys go to the NFL.

And like I said to people Outside looking in it might seem cliche to say things like Getting Better NEVER Ends. But at UGA it’s not only Expected it’s Demanded.

Like on Offense if your not willing to learn how to block effectively, no matter how talented you are other wise, on a Kirby Smart team you ain’t gonna get many Real Game snaps if Any !! And that’s Good. Though sometimes the player might not realize it.

By doing that Kirby is building his team better, And helping that individual player to up his stock for the NFL, IF that player is willing to listen and DO the work.

But no matter how hard they try to evaluate these Kids, there’s gonna be Some that think ( Wrong !!) there’s a short cut to the NFL. Oh they might make it. But they won’t draft as high And like I said when they face a former long time Dawg one on one in the NFL they’ll Lose !!

Those tools that Kirby and staff Try to teach these Kids are exactly what Most NFL teams are looking for, as Kirby operates on a format and quality level very, very similar to the NFL.

But I’m preaching to the Choir. You know this stuff better than I do !! We’re just singing the same song !! The bottom line is when Kirby and staff have got the guys they want in place, and get them sanded and smoothed for the 2024 season, what you will have is Another very, very high quality and tough Dawgs team. Like you said and I agree, mark it down !! Go Dawgs !! 😀

Oh and I meant to add ( As Yall already know just sayin) when your building a high quality Program and looking at long term continuity, Not just one season. You ARE gonna lose a few for various reasons that you really would’ve preferred Not to lose. Both recruits and guys to Early NFL or the TP. It’s just part of it.

Some will make the Program better Because they left. We’ll see guys Go that could’ve stayed, that we hate to see leave. BUT we’re gonna Gain guys that over time we’ll be plum tickled we got at UGA.

This I am Extremely Confident of, VERY Much So, Kirby and UGA are Not in a decline. Especially long term. Kirby and our beloved Dawgs are not gonna win every single game they play every single season. That’s not realistic no matter how much we’d all love it. That’s a Shangri-La dream of football.

But for the next Many years to come, with KS at the helm, Dawgs will be At or Very near the top of the stack and will be very much in the Championship conversations !! You can use that as collateral on your Dawgs fan gear purchase loans !! Go Dawgs !!

    @navydawg

Yeah...I think all of us pretty much, "know what time it is" in Athens...as the kids would say....I think...Lol.

The Fans that like to keep up with the "recruiting game" are left out in the cold...with this TP Business.

Next year's "SEC Team Rosters" are as clear as the mud in a South Georgia swamp. Nobody will know anything, for sure, until after the Spring Practice....or, the second portal window...or, the day of the Clemson Game, in the ATL. Lol
