Saban: I don’t want anyone to think I’m looking over their shoulder………but I’m looking over their shoulder.

Lol..."at an Arm's length"....is the same thing as throwing up the "Plausible Deniability Shield", should this whole thing go South. And, it will. Alabama will be back to mediocre form, within a year....and fingers are gonna start flying.

The further Saban can separate himself from Deboer and the Tide....the better for him and ESPN. They can't afford to have him involved in any NCAA/Legal violations that may have occurred during his tenure. That's gonna be Deboer's job. He's the patsy that wil wash the slate clean, should something come up.

ESPN can't have Saban's name muddied in anyway while he's an "employee". IMO....This "hiring of Nick Saban" has been an act in progress for 2 years. They've been strokin' his feathers over the last two years, grooming him for the position.

Hindsight being 20/20....Everything that Saban and ESPN have done over the last few years...with respect to Alabama, it's players and the hype...was in preparation, for Nick stepping away from CFB.

If I had to nail down a time frame for when he made that decision and mental transition....it would have been in 2020. The pandemic had a lot of people our age, contemplating retirement and life-after. Lol...in fact, we questioned all of the institutions we were raised to believe in and trust....including "the media".

It was probably after the 2020 Natty. I think his intention was to follow Young and Anderson out the door. But..."missing the CFP" in 2022 delayed the inevitable.

They [ESPN's power vortex]....Pushed Saban and Bama into the CFP at UGA and FSU's expense....so that Saban could comfortably retire with one more CFP Bid under his belt.

Lol....anything for a friend....huh, ESPN?. Prior to this year....word on the street, was that Saban had "lost it" & "Bama was lucky not to lose 3 or 4 games in '21 & '22". With what was characterized as...."Saban's best team ever", in '22....he missed the playoff. How is that possible?...Time for ESPN's army to pull out all the stops....in getting Saban back to the dance, so he can retire. Hmmm....pretty good conspiracy theory, huh Navy. Lol

BTW....ESPN's power vortex comes from more than just the people you see & hear on TV or Blog or POD cast. Those are just the mouthpieces that implement and deliver the company-line.

This whole thing [Div1 CFB] is starting to look like "The Hunger Games" with a crooked "Game Master". Is Disney the "Game Master" in this case. Who would suspect em. Lmao.

So you have Herbstreit recruiting for Ohio St., Nebraska, and the Big10 working for ESPN, and now you have Saban working for Alabama and ESPN. Hmm, what's wrong with this picture? Seems just a little funny...

“That’s our home, that’s our family, that’s our community,” Saban said. “We’re going to continue to do things to help the community every way that we can.”......Oh, so you spend 17.5 mil for a palatial palace in sunny Florida....I'm thinking that amount would have really put a dent in the down trending monetary issues Tuscaloosa is experiencing.....but hey, just wait until The Tide recedes and The Pachyderm becomes an SEC DeBore! Take about a down trend!
