What comes next for Georgia football running back room following Andrew Paul transfer, spring game
ATHENS — Andrew Paul looked good on Saturday. He was the lone running back to score a touchdown in the G-Day scrimmage and totaled 44 yards on just 4 carries.

All understandable. A victim of UGA's loaded position group. Wish the best of luck to Paul wherever he lands. The current system at work.
It seemed obvious Paul would have a path forward as a Dawg. I was very much looking forward to seeing much more of him.

They come and they go. support the ones who stay.
Paul is getting bad advice from somewhere. Sure, he can go to another smaller school and get 25 carries a game. But, the offensive line won't be as good, and his chance of getting hurt goes up a lot. He'll burn out before he get's a shot at the NFL. Playing for a sub par team will have him hoping to get in the 7th round of the draft. Even if he gets drafted, he'll have to work up from the practice squad. One would think he would relish the idea of 15 quality carries a game rather than 25 tough carries, especially since he's already been hurt once. I really don't understand it.

That's a good way to put it. Transfers like this one and Vandergriff's make sense for the player and for both programs. Same with the trickle out of DL, LB and other position groups that are deep for Georgia.
It might not seem that Georgia benefits from losing those two promising players. But over the long haul it's an unavoidable part of Kirby's system, and that system is yielding outstanding results on the field.
There's nothing wrong with a five-star QB understudying at UGA for two years and then making a decision to go to a quality program where he can show off how well he developed here. Had Beck been injured last year or somehow not played well, Vandergriff would have gotten that chance. Now, the understudy be Stockton, and two UGA QBs will be quality starters at two SEC schools. Not bad for our rep as a QB factory.
Paul's unfortunate because he got injured in a year when he could have gotten a lot of playing time. If he had proven himself last year, he might have been one of our top two RBs this year. But he'll probably land at a place where he'll get to show off his great Bulldog rehab and training, and become the featured back in 2025.
I put this in the "it's all good," category. But I'm crossing my fingers that we don't have another rash of injuries.
