Roman Ildonzo Gabriel Jr. has just passed away of natural causes he was 83 years old. GOD Bless his family and give them peace and comfort. He played for the L.A. Rams and Philadelphia Eagles, was selected no. 2 over all in the 1962 drafts, by the NFL Rams and no.1 by the [AFL] Oakland Raiders. Is the first NFL's Filipino American football player. I always liked him when I was a kid, didn't like the teams he played on though. RIP.😎

RIP Roman Gabriel

I'm always amazed at the iconic athletes that all came from the same high school in of all places Wilmington NC. New Hanover High produced Roman Garbriel, Sonny Jergensen, and of course the GOAT, Michael Jordan. My cousin the newscaster David Brinkley was also a New Hanover High grad.

I was a Ram and Packer fan when I was a kid. That was before we had the Falcons. Roman Gabriel was an unbelievable QB who could throw with both hands with accuracy. He rarely threw left handed, but he could. I still remember the Gabriel to Snow combination.
