I've got relatives from that area. There are some "good ole boys" there who will get after you. But I get the impression they have some pretty good fans in SCar.

The 4 yrs I was in Redcoats we had more issues with south Carolina fans than any other school.

Only away game I ever had a real problem...someone keyed my wife's car while we were in the game!

I went last year and didn't have any big problem. Some drunk fan would throw the towels they handed out while we walked by, but we let it go.
I'm 6'3" 215 and the guy with me was a pretty jacked military MP so I wasn't too worried. lol

I saw two guys ejected at Ap state game for smoking in the stadium.

Also, What's to say it isn't the other teams players?

All the games I have been to both home and away, I have only seen one fan that was ejected for being a jackass...and he wore red and black unfortunately.
