I think it's a bit soon for a statue. We all know Kirby is the greatest head coach the Dogs have ever had. His legacy will grow and grow. Once he's won as many Nat Titles as Coach Saban, it'll be time. Right now, it will just be a distraction.

    OMG….Hell has frozen over.

I found something to agree with MG….who knew

Yeah. I gotta agree with you, NC. I'll go step further and argue that statues are like Hall of Fame inductions: They best come after retirements.

Grateful that Kirby is not interested in talking about statues, preseason rankings, preseason Heisman, All American and All Conference picks, projected 2025 1st round picks, etc. etc. etc. All of those preseason accolades only stand to poison the minds. The 2024 Bulldogs have yet to accomplish anything and if their minds are on all of this fluff being written about them, it will be a long day against Clemson come August 31st.

You are correct but, this is not your dad's GA Bulldogs. This is the Kirby Smart era and he has that, and everything else that he can control, all covered.

He has proven it. Now let's go win his 3rd Natty before he turns 50.

Mike, wouldn't it be more appropriate to wait and see how the remainder of Kirby's career pans out…..knowing that it will only get better??? I totally agree with NCMtnDawg and ChandlerPark…..honors such as statues come best at the culmination of a career……at this point, the BEST has yet to occur.

How ‘bout a statue for the most decorated defensive player in Georgia history, David Pollack? Or the greatest and most decorated TE ever, Brock Bowers?

I agree with the other 3 statues, but we need to wait a bit on Kirby's. Have the spot already reserved because it will happen in the future. Let us leave Kirby to lead the young men to more Natties.
I will offer that Stetson Bennett should have a trophy too. He was the QB on the latest 2 Natties we won.

Totally agree that Kirby more than deserves a statue. But not right now. Would be better served when he retires Or much later in his career. AND he deserves it Even if for some reason his future success was to fade some.

Back to Back Nattys and a Very strong run on a three in a row. Yes he absolutely deserves a statue at some point. But I agree with my fellow Dawgs fans that right now would not be good timing. Go Kirby !! Go Dawgs !!

Huge Kirby fan and believe in due time he should/will get his statue, but I have never been a supporter for an active coach or player having that recognition. Past heisman guys yes! As far as Kirby… keep the Main thing the Main thing right now and honor him after he retires with more natty’s
