SEC Network Paul Finebaum gives Alabama upper hand on Georgia
ATHENS — It hasn’t taken much time for the pregame talk leading into the Georgia-Alabama matchup to heat up with the 7:30 p.m. kick on Saturday rapidly approaching.
Comments
That game against KY really did a number on outsiders and a lot of insiders opinions of UGA. Hopefully it will be "us against the world' come Saturday! Hopefully we can bring the passion against BAMA that KY brought against us.
Finebaum is a bama homer from the word go, if he had picked UGA i would've been shocked..GoDAWGS!
Yum yum yum
love me some good rat poison!
I have no proof that any of this is true, this is just my perception of the matter:
1. Kirby knows he can beat Kentucky, because they never have a dynamic offense capable of putting up the points, so he plays a game that forces his team to effort or resilience (yes, that’s a verb here) their way to a victory. He also is keeping a lot in the bag, while limiting injuries.
2. He lulls the competition into a sense of false security. Literally no one outside of (some) Dawgs fans believe Georgia even has a shot in this game; we’ve already run the simulation, ESPN FPI has Bama and winning, the conclusion is foregone. This is incredibly dangerous, you can never, NEVER, overlook an opponent, and I think Kirby wants everyone to think they’re struggling. Bama may be prepared from a game plan perspective, but if they are overconfident, that could be all the difference we need. Kirby pretends to be a slow country boy that doesn’t understand big words, but he’s as sharp as they come. Certainly this has at least crossed his mind, just pretend to be a wounded animal.
This may be a load of bs, but hey, it’s interesting to consider. The alternative is we actually will just lose because they are the better team, and better coached team. I’m not buying that.
PF is absolutely right. It comes down to the offensive and defensive line, and I'm not sure georgia has it. Plus, bobo isn't clever enough to make gametime changes. He can make halftime changes, but not during the play of a game. In the future, Kirby needs to have a co offensive coordinator, and he needs more defensive and offensive lineman that are 4 and 5 stars, not 3 and 4 starts.
I've gotten to where I don't even read the articles anymore. Just want the Dawgs to do their talking on the field!!!!
Great take on your part !! Having a chip on your shoulder ( more like a Boulder) is not a negative, and the Dawgs certainly have that. YES the KY game was disappointing, NO that game doesn’t mean we should forfeit to Bama or anyone else.
Another question came to my mind this morning, what if we did lose to Bama, BUT went on from there to win the remainder of our games including TX@TX ?? That would put us back in the SECCG as far as I know and quite possibly vs Bama again.
We shouldn’t worry so much over the loss of one game, but winning the Big Picture. As I’ve said before our Dawgs have one of if not The toughest schedules in all CFB. We have allot of youth, we have guys out injured, to me it’s not unrealistic to think Dawgs can get Better as the season goes on not the opposite.
I sure Hope we beat Bama but as long as we make it a Very tight game I’m not prepared to forfeit the season in the event we lose. Playing them IN Tuscaloosa is Huge for them, it’d have been a big plus for us had it been in Athens. We’ll see how it goes, but I’m not gonna say these Dawgs are a bust at This point. Go Dawgs !! GATA !! Get After that Tide Azz !!
So Well said! From your mouth to God's ear!!
Go Dawgs! Hate on Bama!
Yes exactly. One **** game and now Georgia is no better than Western Kentucky? Lol. Alabama is a good team but they are not the Kansas City Chiefs. Anyways Go Dawgs!!!
The game with Alabama will indicate what kind of team and year we'll have. All of the preseason and early season polls are to create media interest so the media can sell advertising and make money. The talking heads make big bucks off of it. If we can handle Bama then we could end up with a decent season. We have lost some big playmakers, so until others appear we don't really know what we have.
Alabama beat USF barely and a slow and very average with their starting QB Wisconsin team. We beat by 31 points a very solid Clemson team and beat Kentucky by enough. Georgia wins by 9-12 points and Beck has a very solid game and hits two deep passes against a very suspect Bama Defense
If Finkbaum is leaning toward the Bamabums then the Dawgs are in good shape. Helene will definitely effect the outcome.
