Mykel Williams has ‘come along nicely’ as Georgia hope he can solve its biggest defensive issue
ATHENS — The biggest problem for the Georgia defense in the loss against Alabama was its inability to set the edge. It was something Georgia coach Kirby Smart bemoaned during his halftime interview with ESPN’s Holly Rowe.

Loved watching Mykel since he’s been at UGA. Great player and from what I hear, a great person too.
I know UGA and the world are too advanced for this advice nowadays, but if Williams would soak that ankle in some warm water and Epsom Salt every night for about 30 minutes, 90 percent of that soreness would disappear. Just sayin . . . Go Dawgs!
As a former Defensive End, I was screaming at the tv, “SET THE EDGE!” I know it’s not simple against a herd of elephants, and it won’t completely shut down Milroe, but you must send him inside toward your teammates!! I think we’ll do this much better if we face Bama again. ..! One thing I would like to see against all opponents is for us to use the pass, to set up the run. Let Carson Beck stretch the opponents’ Defense, so they can’t load the box!! His arm is a weapon that we seem to be under-utilizing (at least before it’s a desperate need to pass). As a UGa grad, I love my Dawgs; and though I understand why they dropped in the polls, I believe there is NO TEAM that them Dawgs can’t beat. They should prove that in Oxford, and they better between the hedges against Tennessee and the rest. The test of how good we are will likely be vs Texas…! Hunker dow
"Dallas Dawg"—Love it ! My mom would agree with you 100%. Y'all would have Mykel ready to play in no time.
MWilliams clearly looked hobbled vs AL. Visibly favoring his left ankle. He looked about 30% vs AL. I thought the UGA DC would be more selective about using him. 10-15 snaps in expected passing situations. On a bad ankle you want him blowing by the OT not stoning the 350 lb. OT setting the edge.
