Sorry, I just can't get on Kirby's hype train for Beck. While I agree that Beck has not been horrible (and is clearly our best QB option), I do think something is wrong with him this year, and I believe it's more than just Bowers and McConkey are missing, and that we've had 0-Line injuries. I think those have had some affect on his play, along with some inopportune drops by his receivers, but it doesn't explain away all of his interceptions, or his decision-making. It's clear he's not seeing the field like he used to. And he's sometimes inaccurate with his throws even when he has a clean pocket. I'm not going to put it on him having a fancy car or a girlfriend. I think he's more mature than that. I want to believe that maybe he's trying too hard, trying to prove that he's a good QB even without Bowers and McConkey. And that extra pressure is making him try too hard and overthink things. But I wish Kirby wouldn't coddle him so. Sometimes even great players need a swift kick in the rear. Go Dawgs!
