Hate it for a young man but the constant “I’ve just got to get better” stuff is just words. What we get is a complete replay of all the same exact problems - throwing the ball into spots he has no business throwing into. One has to change: not say you recognize the problems,but to actively address those issues.
Enough about Beck who has been the same issue for the past 4-5 games - what does this say about the QB room? If UGA is not confident enough to put another QB in, then next year will be a mess. I’m just tired of hearing how tough each opponent is and how much everyone lets Beck down and how much he knows he must improve - either do it or put someone in that can. The other players deserve that.
I see a QB who rushes throws. And he has not responded well to pressure. He is correct that last year he threw it away when there was nothing there. But his problem goes beyond that. He is throwing into double coverage and not seeing defenders. There are times I’m trying to figure out what he is seeing when he throws. With him playing this way, teams can play the run and dare him to pass. I fear we will have our second loss next week.
Kirby Smart used to berate Stetson about taking care of the ball, now…..crickets.
I trust he’s a much better coach than I, but these performances demand a reset in who we believe qb should be.
my biggest concern is if Beck is the best choice and he has 11ints this year, how bad are our backups????
It seems that Beck is expecting perfection of himself. He seems to be trying too hard and unlike last year (when he seemed to not let a negative play bother him) this season, those first negative plays are clearly bothering him on the following plays.
What worried me most about Beck in the Florida game especially, was how he looked so defeated after those bad plays. Instead of putting the bad decisions behind him, you could clearly see he was stressing and worrying about what would come from the next play.
To his credit, just like in the Texas game, Beck was finally able to pull it back together and put together a few productive drives together when it was needed the most.
I'm not calling for a QB change, but I do wonder if it would be beneficial for Bobo to give Stockton a couple of series if Beck gets into another funk like he did against Florida.

Yep. Mediocre oc, but a heck of a nice guy. Feels similar to richt yrs, offense doesn't improve thru the yr, zero ingenuity, can't get the first down, fieldgoals...and we r stuck w the guy. Same as he ever was
Those 11 interceptions could have easily been close to 15 or more. Many other probable interceptions were dropped or broken up just in the last 2 games. Beck looked very dejected and frustrated, so you know his performance is affecting his confidence.
Put in Stockton. Give Gunner a chance to right the ship and inspire the offense, because right now the offense is sputtering badly. Remember, this performance was coming off a bye week when things should have shown at least some improvement.
Hey, I'm with you on Gunner... that said, I was also a huge proponent of Brock V's to come sub for Beck last year, and we see where that's ended up! I'm guessing Kirby is seeing something in Gunner that we don't 🤔
It is true Beck is not playing well, but neither are these receivers. They never seen to know when the ball is in the air or directed to them. Bobo needs to fix this right now.
Good grief. Yeah, 62pct may not be elite-ville, but give him a little breathing room for growth. Who among us is perfect??
QB's……none are alike and Carson Beck is one individually different Dawg…talk about penthouse to the out house….but just like the love of my life, a perfect 10plus who for unexplainable reasons thinks I hung the moon, she has stinky feet but I love her just the same…..CB is our QB, our Field General, our example of never quit, never let a screw up defeat you and as Scarlet Bull Dawg O'Hara sez….."After all, Saturday is another day" and I can't comment on CB's feet but those 3 INT's didn't defeat us and I'm still in love with my DAWGS, so come Saturday Carson and every Dawg that takes the field in Oxford has the ability, motivation, coaching and most of all the opportunity to be ELITE on every snap……
