    Arky is bad.

Their offense is a turnover waiting to happen and still put 31 on Ole Miss.

Dart has been impressive this season. 25/31, 6 TDs, and no interceptions yesterday. Dart ranked #3 in passing efficiency and after yesterday he will be in the Top 5 in completion percentage. Beck is not even on the same playing field as Dart. The Rebels defense is formidable and better than its ever been under Kiffin.

Ole Miss's losses have been so close. At least we don't have to play them in Oxford at night.

I guess we'll just see which Carson Beck and which Bulldog's team shows up in Oxford...you just never know these days. Beck has things to "fix", and in general, this team seems to have a hard time getting motivated.

Hummmm…..will this be L #2 for UGA? I look at Ole Miss and their daunting offense and see no way UGA can win….yet…we all know UGA presents different faces for different opponents, don't we? If you stop Dart you win, otherwise you lose. Georgia had real trouble with an inexperienced freshman Florida QB, until he left the game injured!? Dart is a solid veteran looking at a Heisman vote or two.. You tell me? Beck at his best throws a minimum three interceptions a game now. He is not in the same universe with Dart…right now anyway….but I still believe in miracles……yes I do!

I am curious about all the hoopla with Lagway. He was good but not moving at will. He was 2 of 6 passing with a deep ball on a young secondary in the first half. Yes it was Starks playing catch up but maybe one of the replacement youngsters was supposed to help. Hearing from the Gators we couldn't stop Lagway. Pretty sure we did. Becks picks are what helped their offense.

@MontanaDawg Give Jaxson Dart the same guys catching the ball that Carson Beck has and then see how good he is. It isn't just Jordan Watkins. Their 4th WR has only 40 fewer yards than Arian Smith AND has more than twice the TDs. Keep bashing Beck all you want, but until Kirby Smart starts actually caring about WR recruiting then no QB is going to look good. Which hurts QB recruiting too. How many elite QB recruits will come to a program that makes no effort to get elite WRs? So all the "replace Beck with someone better" … where is this "better QB" going to come from?

Every UGA fan acknowledges needing top 50 and 100 players at OL, DL, LB and DB to win titles. Time to stop pretending that you don't also need that type of talent at WR just because Kirby doesn't want to do what it takes to get them.

Absolutely. We didn’t “struggle” with Lagway at all. Defense largely did what it was supposed to do, except for one deep ball and the gifted short fields. Still managed to limit them to two TDs after three interceptions.

Weren’t people gushing over how great Ewers was before we went to TX? Sounds like Dart is just the next person to start getting that sort of attention.

Hard to say what would have happened had Lagway not be taken out of the game? Also, I agree on Beck's picks…they are distressing this old grad Dawg. Aaron Murray says Carson is forcing the ball into tight pockets and losing because he does not have the talent at receiver any longer and wants to show his ability to pinpoint pass to NFL? Hummmm?

My comments are not intended to be sarcastic or directed at you in a personal way. I read your comments and many times agree with them. And to an extent I agree with you here.

You’re right in saying that recruitment of WRs should be much more intent. But something is Bad off with Beck THIS year. And it’s not all that Bowers and McConkey have moved on to the NFL. And your right again that receivers dropping balls and not properly running routes sure don’t help Beck any. And Dart might not fair a smidgen better if he had Beck’s crew to work with I’ll give you that one to.

Now the Bad part. Far too many times Beck throws right into three and even four man coverage almost like he’s trying to Will our receiver to catch the ball. You just can’t do that and expect the ball not to be picked off !! Beck gets frazzled pretty bad when teams bring the blitz. As long as he stops and plants his feet to throw usually he’s pretty accurate. And he seems to see his receiver better. But when he gets happy feet Oh No look out !!!

When your the QB your The Man. Success and Failure go with that title. One thing that bothers allot of Dawgs fans including Me is to see him sitting on the bench seemingly pouting when he gets into INT mode.

When Stetson blew it and Yes he did, he would go over to his teammates and seemingly say OK they got me that time but I assure you guys I’m gonna burn Them the next. Stets displayed leadership Even in failure and it rallied the players !!

When Beck is beat, he Looks beat. Beck is a veteran player he HAS to show leadership. He was touted as a Heisman candidate in preseason. You have to play with the personnel you have. Beck needs to be able to Step Up and make his receivers look good just like sometimes receivers make the QB look good.

This Dawgs team has Allot of talent but on the Offense the Fire and Desire doesn’t seem to be there. YES allot of that sits squarely on Coaching. But on the field of play Beck IS the coach in a big way for the Offense. CFB with young guys has a huge emotional factor to it. It Can’t be good for guys to see Beck over there sitting by himself by all appearances pouting.

He might be meditating or trying to calm down or what ever but it just doesn’t seem to give a positive look. Now in conclusion I Hope that Beck makes me eat a basket load of crow for the rest of the season !! I’d be extremely happy !! All I ask is a little salt, pepper and butter Lol !! But and If the same Beck shows up for Ole Miss, TN and post season play as we saw vs UF it certainly doesn’t bode well for our Dawgs. I hope he gets Much better, I really do, I have nothing against him as a person. Go Dawgs !!

My confidence level is at an all time low with Beck at QB going into Ole Miss.

  • navydawgnavydawg ✭✭✭✭✭ Graduate

I have a pretty good bit of confidence in our Defense. But our Offense can’t go three and out allot Or keep giving the rival O a short field, it’ll gas our Defense then bad things will happen.

Dan Jackson though not as praised as many on the Defense is a vital player as much because of his knowledge as his tenacious physicality. If our O can generate points fairly consistently I think our Dawgs are more than capable of beating Ole Miss. It all depends on how hungry our Dawgs are at Oxford. Let’s hope they’re starving !! Go Dawgs !!

P.S. Kirby needs to look in the mirror chew himself out totally then go chew his coaching staff out mainly the O coaches !!

Ole Miss is one of the most mercurial teams in CFB, and for whatever reason, their best power 4 performances have been on the road. I watched their home games vs UK and OU, and saw their offense fold up like a cheap tent when the DLs got pressure on Dart. If the Dawgs bring the defense we saw vs Texas to Oxford, MS, I like their chances, and especially if Beck actually has a clean game.

@benzone…The media was all hype about Beck and his talent…his Lambo…until he lost Bowers and McConkey part way through last season - who made Beck look a bit better than he actually was…we see that this year to some extent. But that's not the main story. Sure, Carson doesn't have elite receivers to throw to (that's a whole different conversation), but that's not what is bugging me the most.

Like navydawg said, Beck is just off this season. This was Beck’s third consecutive multi-interception game — and fourth in his past five — after not having any last year, when he threw 24 touchdowns to just six picks.

Part of it is his receivers, but a lot of it is him getting happy feet and crumbling under what seems to be the slightest pressure. My biggest problem with Carson is that he throws WAY TOO MANY balls into very tight coverage, double coverage, and to guys who clearly are NOT open. It's like he is living in a alternate reality and sees a different landscape than everybody else on the field. And he does this time and time again.

We are still winning games in spite of Beck - not necessarily because of him. But if we aren't careful then we might lose a game because of him. Luckily our defense and running game have kept us in games even after many interceptions.

a lot of people bashing Beck. He didn’t play well, but we don’t need style points, we just need wins. We’ll smash Ole Miss, guaranteed.

Propping him up? Sheesh, Mike, give it a rest. It is exceptionally clear at this point that Bennett was the GOAT among UGA QBs. Yes, he had a great supporting cast, but he was a difference maker who (as the Rams’ coaching staff has said several times) just won and made everyone around him better. Beck, on the other hand, seems to make everyone around him worse and, when cut loose to throw, makes freshman mistakes… just the truth, my friend.

BEck played plum awful to start. He had an open TD to Cash Jones on the wheel route that he overthrew(anyone seeing a pattern here?) THen on the next drive down in the redzone he had Jones at the pylon wide open just standing there but instead threw underneath for a completion and short gain. Time and time again he had checkdown receivers when he was getting flushed but he couldn't see them I suppose for tunnel vision in panic mode. HIs NFL stock is dropping game by game.

He was so emotional on the bench after the picks, putting his head down. If you aren't confident, then fake it til you make it. Don't let your team see you get down on yourself! Composure!

Again to his credit he did play better later on, but it was Florida. THeir FR QB was injured.

THere will be no mercy next week from Ole MIss if you start the game that way again.
