- Personal attacks on other community members are unacceptable, practice the good manners your mama taught you when engaging with fellow Dawg fans
- Use common sense and respect personal differences in the community: sexual and other inappropriate language or imagery, political rants and belittling the opinions of others will get your posts deleted and result in warnings and/ or banning from the forum
- 3/17/19 UPDATE -- We've updated the permissions for our "Football" and "Commit to the G" recruiting message boards. We aim to be the best free board out there and that has not changed. We do now ask that all of you good people register as a member of our forum in order to see the sugar that is falling from our skies, so to speak.

Projected CFP rankings: Georgia back in, but may be better off missing SEC title game
ATHENS — Georgia football won its way back into the College Football Playoff projections Saturday night.

So if you lose by 2 TDS to a Top 10 team on the road, you drop 9 spots. But you win by 2 TDS against a Top 10 team at home, you only go up 2 spots. GOT IT! sigh
I’ve said this before. I’ll bet that if AM beast Tx. Tx will still be ahead of Georgia. Along with the big 10 top 4 making the playoff regardless of strength of schedule. And we thought the political season was over. That only leaves 4 SEC teams with shots as long as ND maintains favor.
Regardless of where Georgia ends up if they play like we know they can I don’t see a team that can beat them .
This 12 team CFP model is more of a joke than four team model. The top 7 on this list have only 4 top 15 or better wins between them and very weak strength of schedule ratings. Texas has already been found out. At some point the others will, too. Would be the ultimate egg on the face of the CFP committee if Georgia and Alabama rip through these top 7 pretenders and make the CFP final.
Go Dawgs!
Again, I'm not going to complain as anything is better than just the top 4 teams playing but it is kinda interesting. So Oregon is considered the best team in the nation after beating Wisconsin by a FG as well as beating Ohio State by 1 and Boise State by 3, but Tennessee is out?
Nice article Mike. And yeah, there's no reason to think that the committee - that this committee - wouldn't treat the SECCG as an elimination game for Georgia.
It's kind of sad, but we've entered an era in which the prospect of winning a conference championship is more of a burden than anything.
Yep. Expansion was never a solution to the controversy. We're still saddled with the inevitable aggravation from the committee's indefensible decisions.
now we are debating the merits of a BCS type of system, which most of us thought needed some more eye test input. Funny how the only true answer is just to start the year with three rival games and then begin the playoffs with all 150 FBS teams.
I'm fine with not playing in the SEC Championship game as long as we make the playoffs. Hell it has worked for bama several times in the past.
All you have to do is look at the SEC schedules. The SEC wanted to make sure Texas and Alabama had cakewalks into the SECCG and the playoffs and to give it a sense of legitimacy had both of them play the Dawgs at home. There was no way they could predict Vandy would upset the apple cart but made **** sure it wouldn’t be the Dawgs! The SEC Championship has been rendered meaningless unless a team needs the win to make the playoffs. All that matters to the SEC elite teams is the natty!
Mafioso tactics and 3rd grade math. What a joke.
