Band>PA music during game
Have I just not noticed until recently they are using more pa music in between plays instead of the band now?
Seemed like the band played some on offense but it’s almost all pa music during defense..????
maybe I’m just more focused on the game usually and don’t pay much attention to it but today I seemed to notice a big change.

Nobody cares, move on.
^^^^and this is the type of response as to why I haven’t been on this site in 2+ months. Good Heavens what a tool
See you in 2 more months, then. We talk football here, son, not musical interludes.
kudos for the use of "interludes". NIce!!
Schuler82, I apologize for being such an inhospitable curmudgeon. I thought I was just roughhousing a bit but in looking at it now, it was rude and not funny.
I mentioned last week that during the Tenn game our band was absolutely blasting away during our huddles. On the closeups, you could tell Beck was struggling a bit to communicate in the huddle. I don't know it if was really that loud in person, but on TV it was VERY loud. Might want to tell the band to chill when the team is huddling.
Maybe they could mark their music pp during the huddles.
Well played….are you a brother band-geek?
No. When folks on here mention their favorite bands, I've never heard of most of them and certainly couldn't hum even one of their hits. The pp is the softest, non-loudest marking I know in music - pianissimo. Was trying to be cute, but flopped, it seems.
My tastes are pretty country, bluegrass and blues - and old country is what I love best. George Jones, Merle, Waylon, George Strait, Tammy W, Loretta, Patsy Cline, etc.
I was giving you props for using pianissimo (PP) correctly. I was a band geek (who also played football and baseball). All-state trumpet player in HS in Texas. Played in college for a year then gave it up to join a s-tupid fraternity. Dumb decision.
Anyway, yes….our band probably needs to turn down the volume when our offense in in the huddle calling a play.
You are making me go to YouTube and listen to George Jones wail "Open Pit Mine."
PG - you never cease to amaze. I would have never thought in a million years you were a HS band type guy. Kudos. Nice to know there are folks who know PP.
Closest thing to a band I've played in is with several other old f.arts from around here who can't hear, keep time or remember lyrics. It's a hoot. 2 guitars, a bass player who refuses to learn anything new, insisting on playing one note per beat - but in tune. Then there is me with my learning the fiddle style. Quite the conglomeration!!
I was probably a band equivalent of a 3-star trumpet player. Started playing in 7th grade. Played in concert, jazz, and marching band through HS and my freshman year of college. There were only two of us on the Varsity football team who were also in the band. I miss it.
Who were some of your trumpet "Idols"?
Myles Davis and Chuck Mangione.
