Go Dawgs! Just win, baby!
What a joke! I can think of so many things wrong with these rankings. UGA should be above Miami, Notre Dame and Penn State. Miami lost to Ga Tech and has no wins against a ranked team. Think about that! Notre Dame lost to Northern Illinois and their best win is against a 15th ranked Louisville. Penn State lost to Ohio State and their best win is against #19 Illinois. UGA has beaten the #1, #7 and #14 teams, with losses to #4 and #16. (This was their rank when the games were played.) There is an obvious bias against the SEC and specifically against UGA. The committee has said that they value strength of schedule. Bullshit!!! Tonight, the chairman said they were impressed with Indiana against Ohio State. Are you kidding me? Indiana had 151 yards of offense. He went on to say that they were impressed with Indiana's body of work. Indiana has played one ranked team (Ohio State). Other than OSU, they have played two teams with a winning record, and those two teams are 6-5. Can you imagine what Indiana's record would be if they played UGA's schedule? Probably 6-5. I could go on but I'm getting pissed off.
These rankings are meaningless with the games to be played. As for UGA it won't stay at 7. If UGA beats Tech and TX it will move up. If UGA loses to TX it will move down. Means nothing today.
Indiana’ yardage came on their 1st and last possessions!! I think they had 8 yards in between!
While I don't fully agree with the CFP rankings currently, I am happy to see that the Committee seems to have lessened their importance on actual numbers of wins/losses and put more emphasis on how teams played and their body of work. The problem that Georgia has is that it has played in such a dramatic yo-yo fashion this season that it is hard to say how good these Dawgs truly are when a different team shows up every week. No matter how hard a team's schedule is or isn't, one thing is certain: The Committee obviously rewards consistency, and the Dawgs have definitely not been consistent. We can complain all we want about Indiana, Penn State, Texas, or Notre Dame and their current ranking, but all of those teams have played much more consistently and lost less games than the Dawgs.
The Dawgs just need to take care of business going forward, and if they do that then we'll end up in a good position.
Eh, I mean, keep in mind that the CFP rankings aren't too much different from the AP + coaches, so you can't blame them too much. Obviously, my opinion would be that Indiana (after playing a real team) should've dropped down to about #15 but at the same time they DID lose to #2 Ohio State. If it was to a #15 team then that might've been different.
Georgia is #7 instead of #6/#6 so that's a little disappointing but not too bad. They value Miami at #6 (vs #7/#8) but Miami has at least played SOME good teams although I think they are overrated. The Top 4 are consistent across all 3. Personally, I think Penn State should've been penalized more for just a one point win over freaking Minnesota. I don't exactly like Notre Dame, but I'd argue that they should've moved up above Penn State and we have shown a stronger performance at 2 losses than their 1 loss.
But, it doesn't really matter. What matters is beating Tech and then hopefully pulling off a win in the SEC. If we lose the SEC, it'll be up to the committee's hands, but keep in mind it's not like last year where we were excluded with 1 tough loss. 3 losses, no matter how tough a schedule, is still a lot to justify.
ALL that matters is whooping the Bugs convincingly by double digits.
💪💯
Talk is cheap! Let’s just play the games and see which Dawg team shows up!
Miami has not played a ranked team all year.
