Hate to say it, but if UGA loses either of the remaining games then they will be out. The selection committee has Alabama placed where they can easily jump in ahead of any team that loses. UGA would be an easy one to replace since they lost to the Tide earlier this season.

Notre Dame has NO business being in the playoffs. Seems like there is always a different set of rules for them. A loss to Northern Illinois doesn't look good along with the 65th SOS.

Certainly not fair they get to sit and watch everyone else have to earn it and play for a conference championship.

TCU got bumped out of the top 4 in 2014 because they didn't play in a conference championship. They inserted OSU as a playoff team into the top 4…….controversy. It's all about the viewership/money and nothing more imo. Nothing has changed and never will.

Oh well…..the Dawgs just need to beat whoever is in front of them and take the decision making out of their hands.

BubbaBill is 100% correct. Now that we are in the SECCG, the result of the Tech game is meaningless. We can lose that game and so long as we win the SECCG, vs. either TX or A&M, we are in.

    But just win out, baby!

My interpretation of the committee's response about the potential 3 loss conf championship team is - the committee will have a chance to second guess the rankings. So if UGA gets blown out, especially if to TAMU, the Dawgs will be in trouble. Otherwise, I believe UGA is a playoff lock with a win over tech (a team which recently beat Miami).

Should UGA lose the SECCG and end up 10-3. I don't see how a comparison can be made to 9-3 Bama and OM. Objectively, the higher winning percentage should give UGA the edge.

With all that said, It does seem like a penalty to have to go through another weekend of scrutiny, but we can also look at the SECCG as a safety net in case things go wrong Friday. As I've said before, the Dawgs didn't get to this point by focusing on losses, so now that they are in the SECCG, I'm sure they will embrace the opportunity and take care of business.

I disagree. In the end…it will be clear, that the Dawgs beat 3 of the CFP's Top 10 teams...badly. The 2 losses, were on the road...against 2 of the CFP's Top 15 teams.

They almost pulled the Bama game out of the fire before a last minute game-ending interception in the endzone....and lost to Ole Miss, on the road....in bad weather.

IMO...Beating Clemson (#12), Texas (#3) and Tennessee (#8)....not to mention, beating a very physical and much improved Florida team on neutral ground in a rivalry game....rates special consideration.

IF…your goal is to have the "best 12 Teams" compete for the Trophy....how do you leave UGA "out"?...3 losses or not?. Ga. Tech is no gimme this year, either.

Meaning...a loss to them, won't matter, if they win the SECCG. That would give em a 1st round bye...with a 9-3 record.

Moreover…If they win the Tech game and drop the SECCG to a Texas [?] team they destroyed in October....Their "Body of Work" and Fan/Media hype, should keep em in. Depending on the manner in which they lose. Lol....A&M is the wild card.

    Go get em Big Red!

IMO...It IS "a penalty", for the top team in the Conference, to have to play an extra game....just to prove it. Like it's nearly as important as the Natty…Lol.

As for "Conference Champion"....Just do it the way we used to do it, with the criteria thing. If there had been, a "Playoff" in place at the time the SECCG was established,.…Conference Championship Games would probably, NOT exist, anyway.

I understand "why they do it".…I just don't think it's necessary, if it's gonna cost you on the National Stage.

As far as I'm concerned...finding an SECC is a family affair and has no business, being included in the CFP's final result. Especially…seein' as how, EVERYBODY DOESN'T PLAY ONE. That's not "Fair"…and, it certainly isn't "Equal".

If the Standard for evaluation…is 12 games for one Team....It should be 12 games for ALL teams.

Natty is more important…IMO. Go git you one, Big Red.
