So true...and that's been okay so far. But how far will resiliency and mental toughness get us in the playoffs? Will that be enough?
One strange advantage we should have - at least in the game against ND - is that no team has seen a game plan built around Gunner. Teams can guess what to expect, but not even the fans know for sure. The Irish will have to prepare for numerous scenarios. Heck, none of us really know how good this kid is.
Two very similar teams face off New Year's Day. Should be a great matchup.
@MontanaDawg I am 95% certain that Gunner is a good player. The issue is whether he is good enough to overcome the bad WR play. Which for all the criticism that he gets from UGA "fans" Carson Beck was able to do for all but 2 games this year.
If Arian Smith decides to play the rest of the playoff the way that he did the second half of the SECCG, then UGA has a real shot, even against Ohio State, because forcing defenses to deal with an actually productive split end will open up the running game and will also help Dom Lovett, who proved when playing with Bowers and McConkey that he can be effective when he isn't the primary WR. But if Arian Smith goes back into his shell, then expect UGA to win very boring defensive slogs against Notre Dame and Penn State but go no further.
