Hey folks - as a member of the DawgNation community, please remember to abide by simple rules of civil engagement with other members:
- Please no inappropriate usernames (remember that there may be youngsters in the room)
- Personal attacks on other community members are unacceptable, practice the good manners your mama taught you when engaging with fellow Dawg fans
- Use common sense and respect personal differences in the community: sexual and other inappropriate language or imagery, political rants and belittling the opinions of others will get your posts deleted and result in warnings and/ or banning from the forum
- 3/17/19 UPDATE -- We've updated the permissions for our "Football" and "Commit to the G" recruiting message boards. We aim to be the best free board out there and that has not changed. We do now ask that all of you good people register as a member of our forum in order to see the sugar that is falling from our skies, so to speak.

off topic. But because Mike mentioned him. Stories are floating that Brock Vandergriff is retiring from football. This might be old news to some of you. Cheers
I keep saying this, but that’s because it is true. You have stepped up your game several notches, Mike. It now feels like every story you write is a compelling read that drives the reader forward with enthusiasm for the ensuing prose. 👍🏻
P.S. I really enjoyed Jay Black on your podcast!
Elite players and coaches focus on two things, getting better and collecting W's. The rest is noise. We are blessed that Coach Smart is cut from that rock.
Go Dawgs!!
One game at a time! Let's go get it, Dawgs! And it all starts with Notre Dame! Stay focused and prepare yourselves for battle!
GO DAWGS!
BEAT NOTRE DAME!
👍
Mike, a history lesson for you. The 1981 Sugar Bowl was not a national championship game. ND was 9-1-1 and had no chance of winning the national championship. Georgia won the title after being unanimously voted #1.
ND might look like they are tough but I have doubts based on their cupcake schedule that includes a loss to NIU and a close game vs usc. They aren’t battle tested like this Georgia team is.
Go Dawgs! Beat ND!
There were not 25,000 UFK fans in Athens this year.
Come actually sit in the stands and get a better idea.
This article really caused me to sit back for a second and thiink how privileged I've become because of what CKS has done for Georgia since he became HC. Never in my many decades have I been fortunate to be a (devoted) fan of a team that the expectation of EVERY season is contention for a National Championship... no exceptions! And under Kirby, we've been there many times in under a decade.
We can all grouse when things don't go our way, but I think it's important to remember that under no UGA coach have these expectations been set (much less met) every single season since they arrived. When you add unrestricted NIL, illogical TP protocols, messed up NCAA timing across those factors, changing cultural and generational norms, etc., the fact that CKS STILL has us regularly "in the hunt" is nothing short of miraculous... even Saban threw up his hands and quit! A lot of gratitude owed to this fine man.
Relatedly, I sometimes wonder if I've been too spoiled and, with all the crazy changes, haven't lost a bit of perspective. I'm currently watching Pitt-Toledo... what a game! No championship on the line, few (if any) NFL prospects depending on the outcome of the game... just pure, joyous football play pedal-to-the-metal by young men just fighting hard for the win on behalf of their peers, their families and friends, and their schools. Pure joy for me 😁
No matter what happens in the future, I'll always love my Dawgs... win or lose. I just hope the NCAA craziness doesn't cause me to forget why I watch this sport in the first place 🤔💪😎
PS: apologies for the long post... the holidays cause me to reflect 😂
UGA fear the Irish? Respect, yes, fear, no way. Coach Smart treats each team as they are now, not as they have been in the past. Is ND a better foe than Texas? Not likely. ND has a tight defense. Coach Smart spreads them out and opens up the run game. Lots of run and gun. Ask Texas how that works. ND fits Gunner's style. There may be some early jitters, but he will come through. I like Gunner's style. Tough kid.

Best way I can describe the Leader that’s coaching our beloved Bulldawgs…
When I say “****, I really hate [insert rival team name]”.
Kirby replies "Oh yeah, well I hate em more".
Then I recall the incredibly talented teams he played on that never produced any hardware and push the “I believe” button.
Go Dawgs!

Lol....please, back off the MG Praise. We don't want him getting "complacent".
Remember...."Better Never Rests". That goes double, for Journalists and gum-flappers. Lol
Merry Christmas to all...and to Dawgs a good night.
