Georgia has added more help via the transfer portal, this time landing wide receiver Noah Thomas from Texas A&M.

Wow. We may wind up having TOO many WRs. Gotta give Smart credit. When he is embarrassed at a position, he makes sure he gets lots to cover. Unlike QB though, we should be able to use them. Awesome.
The 6’6 200 WR - caught 39 passes for 574 yards and 8 touchdowns this past season.
This is a good portal pickup.

Yes, the is the one WR I wanted more than any other. He is a difference maker and can truely stretch the field. Plus at 6'6" he is basically going to win all the 50/50 balls. This is very good news! Our recieving core has the potential to be insane next year.
I guess this move is an indication that they don’t expect to bring Colbie Young back regardless of the outcome of his case. They basically play the same position and both have one year of eligibility remaining. Young really left the Dawgs shorthanded at receiver this season with his behavior. I sure Kirby was royally pissed at him. It was a shame too because he could have been a difference maker for the offense. He was just getting into a rhythm with Beck and boom, he was gone.
excellent pick up. We needed a WR with size,
We now need some strong O line guys to give the QB time to throw to these chaps
So it seems we have moved to correct key areas of evolving deficiency in the secondary and receiver rooms. The weakest area along with receivers has been O line, and now with losses on the D line as well. Have there been ANY moves to address line issues, especially considering that the run and passing games can’t work without that? Does Smart believe he can simply transform the same group that didn’t improve all season? Logic would suggest the same personnel and same position coaches would produce similar results. Bottom line: no holes = bottom tier run game. Inadequate pass pro = subpar passing game, sacks, INT, etc. It’s great to add multiple great receivers but will this work without major O line help?
The same group is not returning. Other than Green and Freeling, who weren't really staples, I believe they're all gone. We had some solid signees from a class or two ago.
Aside from a game or two, I think the pass pro held up pretty well last year. But yeah, run blocking clearly needs to improve.
I admit to being a "broken record" throughout the year talking about our lack of WRs. I'm quite pleased with how Smart responded. You can almost see obsession and determination when you look at the Transfer list and see 5 players: 2 WRs (both elite) and 3 Safeties. He gets who he wants. When he wanted QBs, he got the top QBs.
Now, I think we all can agree that change is needed on the O-line. Maybe it's a different philosophy of "bigger isn't necessarily better" or maybe it's a coaching change or maybe it's just more guys to rotate in and out. Either way, there is now a giant hole there that needs to be fixed.
