    ESPN has Micah Bell as a Wide Receiver at Vandy, and CB at Notre Dame, according to 247, he was a four-star coming out of high school, and has played CB, and RB, he had an elite track and field profile in high school, sounds like a Kirby guy, multi-talented Athlete, had a lot of potential coming out of high school.

    Hey Conner help make sense of this move. I can only think to replace Cash Jones. But I haven't seen anything about him leaving either. I'm afraid one of the other backs have revealed their plans to transfer just hasn't came out yet.

    Was this part of the deal to keep Dylan Bell out of the portal?

    So why not a single down at Vandy? An injury?

    Hmmmm, as a "RB" MBell would seem like a duplicate of Dwight Phillips. Plus I read that Cash Jones has more eligibility. He was a CB/WR in HS. Could he be slot wr? Similar is size and speed to SWhite. Nice to have another talented Bell. Makes you wonder when the other shoe will drop. Or as said below, UGA found him a spot because DBell wanted to come back.

    Don't think he's coming to get buried on the depth chart at RB. But he does have 3 years left. And I'm just a guy who comments on a forum. He seems to be in the mold of a Tykee Smith or Javon Bullard.

    Thx for this info. He sounds like a good get !! With that kind of athleticism I’m sure Kirby and company will find a good place for him !! Go Dawgs !!

    …and why do we care if Dillon Bell hits the portal?

    RB room was a disaster with injuries + with the portal hits in the DB/S room, & depth needed in the DB room, Bell is a perfect fit. Athletic, speedy, versatile.

    Micah Bell? Sounds like anther D. Philips? Is Dillon hinting at the portal? All smallish scat backs. He is fast. UGA needs some power backs. Forget the Robinsons..they are too injury prone. IMO. UGA needs a Chubb. A defence wrecker. This is weird. Come on Kirby. I do hope Cash Jones stays!

    You may be "just a guy who posts on a forum" but I think you may have nailed this one! Maybe with his speed and versatility he gets repurposed to help in the secondary? Going to be exciting to watch!

    @railroadtrack1

    How certain are you that Noah Thomas (39 catches for 570 yards) and Zachariah Branch (47 catches for 500 yards, plus 5'10" 175 lbs to boot) are better than Dillon Bell (43 catches, 466 yards)? Bell is no super star but has good hands, is a good route runner and downfield blocker, doesn't make many mistakes, can start at either flanker or slot and only needs someone at (preferably 2 or more of) the other 4 skill positions good enough to merit extra attention from a safety or LB to create enough space for him to be more effective at what he does.

    We've seen this portal for enough years to know not to expect guys who put up middling stats for middling programs to come to UGA and make huge leaps in production. London Humphreys, Dom Lovett, Rara Thomas, Matt Landers Lawrence Cager and Trevor Etienne didn't. So unless you want true freshmen at two starting WR spots for UGA next season, it would be best for Dillon Bell to stick around.

    after this year, we need all the RBs we can get. Only had 3 RBs who played in most games: Etienne, Frazier and Cash Jones. High profile programs need more depth than 3 RBs.

    DBell is a good player. He has a chance to develop into an even better player. Is DBell a good WR1? No. Is he a good WR3? Absolutely. He is a productive guy you want in the WR room. Team first, trouble free, leader, good example of the UGA program for the younger guys and a good football player.

    Former UGA WR Jermaine Burton is in the news again today. On the heels of his apartment eviction last week he was arrested today for battery on a 19 year old woman. Maybe you prefer to have guys like that on your team?

    DBell is a guy I want on my team. Hopefully his brother is cut from the same cloth. Does MBell have the size of a UGA DB? IDK. Does he have the size of a UGA RB? Maybe, in a James Cook kinda role. Does he have the size (and hands) of a UGA slot WR? Probably. Good guy to add to the mix.

    @benzone Matt Landers was not a transfer. He was a UGA recruit.
