How former Georgia QB Matthew Stafford led L.A. Rams to victory
Matthew Stafford ensured a Georgia quarterback connection in the NFL postseason with his steady, veteran performance on Monday night.

Who the hell do you pull for when the Rams visit the Eagles?—Do you pull for Matthew or do you pull for the Eagles with all of our great defensive players? What a Quandary! I wish they didn't have to face each other this soon in the process—also wishing Nakobe a speedy recovery!

As a UGA fan you should root for Stafford to get his second Super Bowl ring so that he will be a no brainer when Hall of Fame time comes. If a ton of people are claiming that Eli Manning shouldn't be in the Hall of Fame despite his 2 Super Bowl MVPs and 57000 passing yards, Stafford would have a much harder time with 1 Super Bowl plus spending most of his career in obscurity in Detroit. Those UGA guys on the Eagles' defense will have a much longer window to get a ring than Stafford, who will be 39 when his contract runs out after the 2026 season.
Another benefit: a fan of the UGA guys on that Eagles defense should want a better QB for that team than Jalen Hurts. In the playoff game this weekend Hurts had 39 yards passing halfway through the third quarter. One of his starting WRs, a guy with Pro Bowl talent, had only 1 catch the entire game and was so frustrated that he was actually reading a self-help book on the sideline. The Eagles have already had to fire a promising young offensive coordinator as a scapegoat to reduce the criticism on Hurts. So if Stafford runs the Eagles off the field this weekend, the Eagles will have to start clearing enough cap space to allow them to release Hurts.
This is BS. Georgia is being represented by 6 guys who have never won the SB. You just dissed Hurts because he led Bama to a come from behind victory in 2018. Yes he struggled but to make rooting interest out of that is ridiculous. We get it…you hate him. Channel your hate somewhere else. Stafford has already won a SB. Your arguments are silly and misguided. He did not run off a good young coordinator. He was overwhelmed. By the way, without googling where is that coach and what impact did he have this year. Jalen just came out of concussion protocol. He had not practiced/played for almost a month. When he needed to he delivered. He was the MVP just two years ago and outplayed Mahomes in the SB. Eagles lost because of the porous defense then. So Jalen deserved a better defense not the other way around. BTW, AJ Brown reads that same portion of that book every game. Spare us. We know you hate Philly. You proved it well.
Funny…no one talks on here all year about the vast improvement of Georgia's players on the Eagles team. Stafford is the one who gets the praise. How many NCs did he bring to UGA? How many did those 6 Eagles bring? Nuff said!
Jalen Hurts

***When his team loses, a quarterback who plays a great game never gets enough credit. But Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts’ performance in Super Bowl LVII should not be overlooked.
Hurts had, quite simply, perhaps the finest stat line in Super Bowl history: He carried 15 times for 70 yards, a Super Bowl record for a quarterback. He scored three touchdowns, tying the record for any player, regardless of position. He scored 20 points (three touchdowns and a two-point conversion), also tying a record for any player regardless of position. He completed 27 of 38 passes for 304 yards, with one touchdown and no interceptions.
Hurts had 41.16 fantasy points, the second-most in Super Bowl history, narrowly trailing the 41.90 fantasy points that 49ers quarterback Steve Young had in 1995.
If the Eagles had managed to win the game, Hurts would have been Super Bowl MVP, and an argument could certainly be made that Hurts played better than Patrick Mahomes in Sunday’s duel of two of the league’s best young quarterbacks. Hurts turned in a special performance. (NBC Sports)
Yep…Jalen is a loser
CTD—What is this obsession with the Super Bowl? The commercials are usually better than the game. You're right—none of the UGA defensive guys on the Eagles has been to a SB. A lot of great and very good players in the NFL never make it to the SB, much less win one. By the end of next season, Stafford should be in fifth position in total yardage by a QB in NFL history. This by itself should qualify him to be in the HOF. Induction into the Hall of Fame is an individual honour, not a team honour.
