Lots of speculation and for what. Nothing! We’re seven months away from the season opener. This poll means absolutely nothing. I could give a rats ass if we are placed behind Texas. Let’s do our talking on the field when we play them in Athens next year. As for winning it all with Carson under center, the fact remains receivers dropped passes and the o-line looked like crap and Carson isn’t nearly as mobile as Gunner. Go Dawgs!

Still love seeing that look of dejection on Brent Keys face, after the DAWGS beat those irritating, pesky bugs from Atlanta!

    If you're not #1, it doesn't matter.

GT coach looks like a little kid who got his toys taken away from dad and dad(Kirby) is saying, you can get them back when you clean your room, like I told you to.

    Lowlife Alert….Ignorance and Jealousy

Kalen DeBoer, Alabama, had Georgia 5th

This is simple. There was no way to rank UGA higher than Texas without ranking UGA over - and Texas under - teams that had less success than Texas but more success than Georgia in the playoff. So no, you couldn't rank Georgia over Penn State. And no, you couldn't rate Texas under Oregon. (For that matter you cannot rate Georgia over Oregon.) Someone show me how to rank UGA over teams that won playoff games or Texas under teams who didn't - or only won 1 - and that will be how you rank Georgia over Texas.

Texas beat the ACC champ and the Big 12 champ. They were the only team in the playoff to actually have a realistic shot at beating Ohio State as they shut down Jeremiah Williams, had the game tied halfway through the 4th quarter and it took a goal line stand and an 83 yard fumble return for a TD for the Buckeyes to beat Texas. There is a better argument for ranking Texas #2 behind OSU than for ranking them behind UGA, who lost their only playoff game by 2 TDs and not to the eventual champs like Texas.

Again. You have to rank Ohio State, Notre Dame and Penn State over Georgia because of playoff results. You have to rank Oregon over Georgia because of their superior regular season and equivalent playoff results. And you cannot rank Texas behind any team who did not make the final 4 other than Georgia, including Oregon.

Losing to Georgia twice does not make Texas worse than Oregon. However, beating Texas twice does not make Georgia better than Oregon or any team in consideration for the top 5 other than Texas. Unless you have the mentality "Georgia beat Texas so they need to be ranked higher than Texas no matter what it means for anybody else" - which is the mentality of an elementary schooler - it is easy.

UGA being left out of the playoffs last year made about as much sense. Lose the SEC playoff by 3 points and drop from #1 to #6.

The great majority of time I agree with you but I respectfully disagree with you on this. To Me you can’t just use the play offs as the only measuring stick. Unlike the Playoff Committee Strength of Schedule should be a factor. Dawgs had a Much tougher regular season schedule, they beat TX twice and at Their home stadium, Dawgs won the SEC title. Thus in my eyes Dawgs should have been #5 and TX at #6.

Some of these coaches voted the same way I would have voted were I allowed so I think my take is at least reasonable. It all comes down to opinion and perception anyway. The best way to get over it is Do Better in 2025. By the way just so you know, not that you care, I didn’t down vote you.

Georgia beat the acc champs, too, and beat them worse than Texas did.
The last few years, pollsters and playoff committee members have said head to head matters, but evidently not in the final poll of the season.

IMO....Winning the SEC Championship, alone....puts the Dawgs in the Top 4. It's almost as good as a Natty, as many have said.

Seriously....if you're an SEC Coach....how the hell do you square rankng the Conference Runner-Up, higher than your own Conference Champion?

THAT defies Logic & Common Sense. Sometimes i forget....We are living in some twisted times. The education system has gone to hell in a hand basket.

We have Mayor's that can't spell "crap" with a mouthful....and Coaches that can't do critical thinking with geometric logic. Lol. Yeah....CFB is in good hands [sarcasm] 😏🤣.
