Recent defensive line recruiting battles make the Georgia-Texas game in 2025 all the more critical

ATHENS — Kirby Smart has a lot of respect for Steve Sarkisian and the Texas program.

A little tired of hearing about UGA loosing out on transfer Hero Kanu. This past year he had ONE solo tackle for Ohio State.
Both teams have many questions to answer on both sides of the ball, including at QB. And I'm not ready to anoint Manning as the next #1 QB since he hasn't shown me anything against even moderate competition. He played very well in last Springs's Texas practice ball game but nothing much at all since then. Gunner has performed much better, so I'm ready to give Stockton the edge after his performance in the last 2 games. I'm sure that game experience will serve Gunner well going forward.
We've beaten Texas pretty handily twice now, and both times we did that with depleted rosters. Until Sark and his staff can prove they can beat Kirby, I'll go with my Dawgs.
Next year is a whole different scenario. The bigger issue for us is the offensive line. We are not getting the run production that we need to be balanced offensively and keep opponents guessing. We have had some decent running backs in the past few years but they have not been able to give us consistent production due to an injured and/or less talented offensive line. We've depended upon the air attack which has been pretty decent, but we also need to be able to grind things out and keep the ball away from the opponents.
