Hey folks - as a member of the DawgNation community, please remember to abide by simple rules of civil engagement with other members:
- Please no inappropriate usernames (remember that there may be youngsters in the room)
- Personal attacks on other community members are unacceptable, practice the good manners your mama taught you when engaging with fellow Dawg fans
- Use common sense and respect personal differences in the community: sexual and other inappropriate language or imagery, political rants and belittling the opinions of others will get your posts deleted and result in warnings and/ or banning from the forum
- 3/17/19 UPDATE -- We've updated the permissions for our "Football" and "Commit to the G" recruiting message boards. We aim to be the best free board out there and that has not changed. We do now ask that all of you good people register as a member of our forum in order to see the sugar that is falling from our skies, so to speak.

Georgia to hire Garrett Cox, a UGA grad, as defensive analyst

The latest hire is Garrett Cox, with Matt Zenitz of 247Sports the first to report the news. Cox spent the 2024 season as a defensive analyst at TCU, working primarily with the linebackers.

This is one of those lessons that Smart hasn't learned yet from Saban. When you are a high profile coach with a Top Tier program, you have the best-of-the-best wanting to be assistant coaches to you. You don't hire guys that WERE friends, you make NEW FRIENDS and hire the best of the best who will eventually leave and become successful head coaches under your "tree". We should NOT have WR problems and O-line problems because all of your coaches should be the Todd Monken's of College Football.
Dumb take.
I don’t think your comments were dumb at all. UGA Is a very top tier program and should be able to draw top tier assistant coaches.
If Either the O Line or WRs struggle like they did in 2024, Kirby will no doubt come under intense criticism from the majority of the fanbase. No Not firing Kirby, not at all, but fans Will be pretty hot if they see Talented O Linemen that can’t pass protect or run block effectively on a Consistent basis.
The O Line got slaughtered by ND in the playoffs. All season long the WRs were dropping the ball like it was a hot horseshoe. Your comments were well reasoned as far as I’m concerned.
