Smith looked fast on the field, but certainly didn't look anywhere near sub-4.3 fast. I think the injuries probably slowed him down significantly.

When he was in Athens, I didn't think of McConkey as a burner. Quick, yes… but not straight-line fast. Of course it turns out he was; but what was distinctive about him (and still is) is his routes, hands, and football IQ. Speed is important (for receivers), but not as much so as these other attributes. Go Dawgs!

And yet he was still faster than Ladd McConkey. Who everyone now thinks of as "really fast". He ran the pass routes for the plays called. If he "didn't look as fast as last year" blame the OC for not calling more fly patterns. As this combine proves, very few guys are 4.2/40 fast.

I never thought of Ladd being a burner, or a sub 4.4 guy. Suprised me when he did that. Obviously he's fast enough or quick enough in and out of his breaks to be succesful, in the NFL.

I'm not sure how Arian's speed will translate to the NFL. Especially seems he's closer to 4.4 than 4.3 and his hands are suspect. Last 2 rounds maybe?
