I just wanted to start a thread for discussion. I’ve attempted to follow the team every year, but it’s usually hard to actually catch games available to watch. They have aired on SEC n+ often but I can’t get that. As a result, I don’t know nearly as much about this season’s team. I’ve caught a few games, and I know we are pretty good, that’s the extent of my knowledge.

I’m hoping someone on our forum can shed a bit of knowledge about our Diamond Dawgs. SEC network is going to air the game tonight against Missouri, although currently waiting for a softball game to end. I’m interested and just wanted to start a thread for discussion, in hopes I might learn more about our team. Go Dawgs!!!

Well shite, Mizzou is up 2-0 as I tuned in. Mizzou hasn’t won a conference game all season, I think 0-22 so I guess they are due. Anyway, bottom of the second with Mizzou at the plate with 1 out. Airing on SEC network if you’re interested.

UGA’s Daniel Jackson hit his 10th HR of the year to give our Dawgs a 3-2 lead in the top of the 6th. It’s our 118th HR of the season and I think that leads the country! I know HR’s don’t make an elite team, but it is exciting and certainly a good thing.

Still top of the 6th, bases loaded Balk makes it 4-2 Dawgs. It also put our batter on base, which confuses me, I was under the impression that a balk advanced runners but wouldn’t put a batter on base.

Anyway, another walk has made it 5-2 GA

After googling, in college baseball, a Balk advances all runners one base including the batter. I had no idea about that.

Been following them all year. Biggest weakness is hitting left handers. This team hits for power, good defense and pitching has been streaky but way better then last year…Mizzou 0 for 22 in SEC play, we should bring the broom out tomorrow

Awesome, thanks very much for the input. I’m interested, excited, and trying to be more in the know. Any further information or discussion will be greatly appreciated. I’m much more knowledgeable about football, but I played baseball in HS also, I wasn’t very good, but I played. 😂

I have Hulu which gives me everything ESPN so get the SECN+ through the ESPN app and been watching on and off all year. Was 29-2 before SEC play and just like Football toughest conference in the nation at one time had 10 in top 15….

Thanks, I’ve also got Hulu, I just wasn’t aware that I could stream SECN+. I likely would not have had time to watch many anyway but thanks again. I just assumed that wasn’t included, but I’ll certainly look into it now.

I have Hulu plus Live Tv. Use the ESPN app for any SECN+ games alot of times they don't have it on ESPN+.

Thanks again man, I’ve just logged into SECN+ and am watching the game! I assumed it wasn’t available bc you have to go through the app and then log in separately to SECN+ through your tv provider. I wouldn’t have even tried that had you not told me, so thanks! Very cool!!!

edit: it’s odd bc on the espn app it didn’t give me an option for SECN+, I had to search for the UGA game that is currently airing on SECN+, attempt to watch, and then acquire the activation code to log in with my iPhone. It’s not difficult, I just wasn’t aware bc the app doesn’t advertise that it’s available so I assumed it wasn’t. Just wanted to add this in case it might help others interested.

Seven innings without an earned run for our SP Finley! Only up 2-1 in the 8th, but Leighton Finley has been dealing. Yes it’s Mizzou, but still a great outing for our guy!

Slate Alford hits his 15th hr of the year crushing a two run shot off of the scoreboard to left center! Dawgs up 4-2 in the 9th!
