Whee Doggies!
“I’ll put it this way: Wherever my coaches will play me at, I will play there,” he said. “I’m not going to one of those guys, because I know there are a lot of them out there who have a massive ego about playing one position and one position only. I just want to play where I can help the team at. I mean, I just played right tackle and left guard in the [Under Armour] All-American Game. I’ll do whatever it takes. It doesn’t matter.”…..Given only this statement, Georgia is the only school among his finalist that will not only allow him to throw the shot but more importantly the Dawg coaching staff from KS to MB to SS will insist that Jackson become well versed in several positions and be excited to plug in where he is needed most…..given Jackson's joy in "throwing" opposing player around like ragdolls…..I could see him as nose tackle/ DT…..No matter where he plays, Jackson Cantwell will be a major concern for the competition. Skill/experience playing several positions will insure first round potential.
He might just be more impactful than Curtis—at the very least, he’s on the same level. I want to hear he’s clocking three miles in 18 minutes—that’s the USMC standard, and it says everything about his drive. What an incredible young man. Mature beyond his years, articulate, and composed. Drop him and Curtis into the recruiting cycle, and we’re not just building a strong NC contender—we’re laying the foundation for Philly’s next Super Bowl dynasty.
"He might just be more impactful than Curtis"—-dawgfromduluth—I think you are absolutely correct. If he is as good as advertised he can foster excellence in an offensive line. He does seem to have his head on straight and with kudos to Keith Jackson—he does have that aura and general look of the "BIG UGLIES". I hope we get him!! GO DAWGS
A rare find to have the opportunity to sign. They don't grow guys like him on trees. Come play for glory young man! SEC titles and the NC. Go DAWGS!
Does his Dad have any eligibility left? Can we sign him too & plug him in at guard beside Jackson?
It would be nice to see Jackson wearing the G on his helmet. Championships are won in the trenches. You can win with decent QB play, but you need great line play to win the big one. Jackson would be a huge get. Pun intended.
Go Dawgs!
All things equal except 1 thing. The girls at Georgia are heads and shoulders above any other place;)
Cantwell would be a welcomed addition. Need someone who dominates at his position. Hopefully the time this weekend in Athens with Curtis & company will bring him around.
This is interesting…..
The On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine projects Cantwell and Curtis to be college teammates. Georgia is the prohibitive favorite with a 73.7 percent chance for a commitment from Cantwell.
I don't know about eligibility but his father is 6'5" and 350lbs. He is a massive man and his son will be even bigger after gets to spend time in the gym with the UGA trainers. If he can stay healthy he will be All-American and All-Pro.
When he hits the NFL he will be what John Matuszak was supposed to be.
I couldn't agree more…though my first hand knowledge dates back to winter 73 to fall 76…..I could never put my finger on the reason he's got Miami on his final list….maybe you've identified the reason NCMtnDawg.
16!? Wow!!! This guy is a mobile mountain, but I think more important even is his attitude.
I have REALLY been impressed by some of these recent Dawg acquisitions (hoping Cantrall becomes one, obviously). Yes, the athleticism, pedigrees, and performance on the field, but just as meaningful (more?): the character and maturity of this latest wave of young men.
When I listen to their interviews, I am 100% certain that if we attract and retain this caliber of folks going forward, UGA football culture will go to an event more impressive level... the future is bright! 😎
Just checked the 2026 OL recruit board—there are several uncommitted five-stars still available. It would be huge to land this kid along with another top OL to protect Puglisi and/or Curtis. That kind of talent up front could make this group even better than the 2022 class.
At the same time, it’s tough thinking about possibly losing a quarterback like Puglisi with how stacked the room is getting. These guys all want to play, and many are eyeing the NFL in two years. It’s going to be a challenge keeping everyone satisfied.
On top of that, wide receivers are going to be drawn to what’s becoming a true QBU. We’re close to building something really special. Hopefully, the program keeps things tight off the field as well—no distractions, no mistakes. Hell, hire a limo service for everyone.
