The problem lies with the people who were selected to run the playoff system. Lies about the strength of schedule being used is all I need to see from these folks.

Day only wants this because he knows that his team, Mich, psu and Oregon/usc would always be the 4 automatic teams from that top heavy, weak conference. If they don’t get automatic bids, his team could possibly be left out. He’s a complete clown and jerk.

“We’re in the Big Ten, and we have 18 teams and some of the best programs in the country,” Day told ESPN. “I feel like we deserve at least four automatic qualifiers.”…..Mighty bold words from a coach that plays in a conference that has 2 ligit programs,……Oregon and TOS, 2 occasionally ligit programs…..Michigan and Penn St and 12 cupcakes……Hey, Cryin, I've got a compromise for you…..the SEC will go to 9 conference games but #9 will be from the B 18's cupcakes…..5/11 is the only across the board fair model as long as the national rankings use a metric incorporating strength of schedule.

Forget the automatic bids, committees, rankings, etc… just go to an NFL style playoff with either the Power-4 or two super conferences. Divisional play within conferences should have never gone away. In fact with the realignment of conferences, divisional play should have been expanded.
