The Packers are getting a steal in Mercole on the one year contract…..but, maybe they don't see it…..MH is worth millions, has a NC ring and I believe would be picked up by another team if indeed "the opportunity" is really all he wants…..not bad for a guy from Bowman, GA……oh, that's halfway between Royston and Elberton ….30 miles east north east of Athens, True Home for all DGD's!
He will be back in Kansas City, by the trade deadline. There are just some players who don't do well outside the team that drafted them and developed them and Mecole is one of those players. He tried another team, the Jets, and then moved back to KC. Hope all the best for him, but I don't see him making the GB team, especially when they drafted a 1st round WR this year for the first time in decades.
just shows how brief a NFL career is. Every April a new set of talent is ready to make their mark. It’s part talent, determination, health, and being on the right team.
