Congrats to Herschel and Brock Bowers for making the first team. The best running back and tight end to ever play the game. Champ should have been on the first team with his production. I had the privilege of seeing all three of them play in person.
Go Dawgs!
Herschel is the best ever . Left school early and would have 2 Heismans but was robbed his freshman year . Trippi should have had one as well but they gave it to the army back that year . Understandable considering America was at war .
You're Dawggone right....Trippi should've been on there. He did most of his damage AFTER the war. He had a split legacy, between '43 and '45 if I'm not mistaken.
Lol...lot of recent'ism about this list....as there are with most. The young bucks putting out these lists, have their heads up their curu's, to coin a phrase from "Scarface". They don't know what they're talking about....so they pick a favorite.
How the hell, does any self-respecting Sports Journalist...Pick Tim Tebow as an "All-Time All American"??? If it's a joke....it stinks.
Lol. You mean to tell me…of ALL the quarterbacks....in all the Schools....in the last One Hundred years....you pick Tebow? Ya might want to do a little reading...imo.
Go Dawgs. You're ALL on my list.
I agree, Tebow was a great college QB, but still not the best the past 100 years,. When I saw that I laughed. I also wondered how you put Chris Spielman ahead of LT. Spielman was no doubt a great LB, but LT was an absolute beast to stop. He's still 1 of my all time favorite players from the past, so i may be a little biased. Same goes for Thomas Davis, and Mike Singletary..2 more excellent LB's that were overlooked.
But..neither Davis or Singletary were All Americans if I remember correctly..
I agree, about LT...among others. Lol. But, decided....once I saw the QB's on the list, not to even bother.
Like you, I just laughed. Then Again...It seemed so absurd...I couldn't resist. Had to go ahead and tho' in a couple of cents, out of boredom. Lol
Tebow & Young over any of the QB's in the '83 draft…or Joe Namath, Fran Tarkenton. You know what?....I can think of 10 quarterbacks off the top of my head...that were better.
But...that's MY opinion....and, Everybody has one. This seems to be just that...."an opinion-based list" designed to draw hammer heads like us out to debate it. Lol...when're we gonna learn.
I know there could be only four running backs on the two deep. But Bo Jackson was something else.
Ron Simmons at Florida State was a beast of a linebacker.
I’m okay with Vince Young, but Tebow? He had heart and grit in the body of a bull. But no way was he the best quarterback ever. I saw Tebow and Dan Marino both play. Not even close. Some of the late 90s, early 2000s Miami quarterbacks like Testaverde come to mind. Elway. Plunkett. There were so, so many better quarterbacks than a fullback taking snaps under center.
Bo Jackson, Earl Campbell, Walter Payton, Roosevelt Leaks, Garrison Hearst, Frank Sinkwich, Charlie Trippi, Reggie Bush, Charles White, Ricky Williams, Yada, Yada, Yada. Lol
Wasn't Kevin Butler an All American kicker? Do they even know how many clutch kicks that kid made? Lol. Hell…he's partially responsible for UGA's early '80's run.
And, as far as I'm concerned....you can put Champ Baily's name up there twice. Once for Special Teams & All Around player, as well as DB. He was a FG Blocking Specialist.
What about [Lol].....Jake Scott & Bill Stanfill? Ahhh....nevermind. Lol
Go get em 2025 Georgia Bulldogs. Put your names on the next list.
2 of the greatest at UGA ever
I know this wouldn’t get him on the lists but Arron Murray has something that even Peyton Manning Doesn’t have. That is Three Consecutive 3000 yd. Plus passing seasons. Key word being Consecutive. I could be wrong but strictly SEC I don’t think Any SEC QB has Murray beat in terms of consecutive seasons. Yeah a shout out to you AM I loved watching you play !! Go Dawgs !! Make the List for 2025/2026 !!
Definitely Kevin Butler before Martin Gramatically-correct (with his his helmet on didn't he look like the Great Gazoo from the Flintstones?) Janikowski had a howitzer - not always accurate but a weapon
