Gunner Stockton learning to make âcalculated decisionsâ as he leads Georgia offense

The heart of a lion. I agree, he has a great downfield touch. I was never worried about his ability. Needs more experience without injury.
Love watching Gunner play and give his all. I sure wish he had a bit better protection so he doesn't have to take hits on balls thrown, much less the ones on runs. He seemed to run with more intention Saturday and didn't seem quite as reckless. He is clearly getting better with his progressions and that will need to continue to improve in order for the ball movement to keep defenses off balance. I know everyone keeps saying it but it's true - keep using the TEs and get the ball to Branch no matter what.
Exactly and well spoken on your part !! Most All QBs tend to struggle some in their first year as starter. Beck did. Stetson did. Gunner is to at times.
Notice how he immediately took full responsibility for his INT no shifting of blame what so ever.
Some people cite he’s been “ in the system for three years” True but though helpful that is No substitute for Real Game experience . It takes Real Game TIME for first year starting QBs to develop.
Before the season started the “experts” were citing Manning as a sure fire Heisman candidate but look how He has struggled !! His last name is No substitute for Real Game Time !!
Puglisi has Huge and Awesome potential !! In time he will be a shining star !! BUT he to is gonna need Real Game Time to gain Good experience. All the best practices in the world can’t simulate that especially verses a high quality opponent.
I can’t predict and won’t even try how the rest of Gunner’s season will go. He might totally break down and bust, or he might explode into elite, or he might just be average for the rest of the season. I’m not a prophet and don’t have a crystal ball.
The One thing I’m VERY sure of is he will do everything that he possibly can to help his team Win. Including as we’ve already seen sacrificing his body to brutal hits to win. The way he jumps right back up after taking a wicked hit might seem to us watching as oh well he wasn’t hit That hard. No he’s just got the heart of a Warrior, he Loves his team and he’s more than willing to Prove his love.
As long as he’s not throwing Allot of INTs especially foolish ones and/or being careless with the football For Me I can’t be Overly critical and Overly harsh about him. I feel he’s giving his Best and that’s all I’ve ever asked of anyone. Go Dawgs !! Go Gunner !!
I agree with what you said. However, based on the clip above of his INT, GS again displayed impatience in the pocket causing him to rush his throw when it was not necessary. Could've stepped up in the pocket and/or slid a step to his right. Those are things most QB's do w/o thinking. He picked the wrong angle and didn't throw the ball deep enough. Thankfully the INT did not change the result of the game. GS should get better each game with experience. He looked better this week to last week and hopefully will look better next week to this week.
