Maybe that’s the downside of NIL. It took an amateur sport, where guys played for love of their chosen school, and turned it into a semi-pro sport with all the pressure that comes with it. We forget sometimes that most of these young men are not even old enough to legally buy alcohol. Perhaps, in some cases, NIL has taken away playing for love or the fun of the game and put undue pressure on these young men.
However, I am so happy for Nate that perhaps he has found playing the game fun again. Like many of us, I am a big Nate Frazier fan. He’s a vital part of our success. .He represents the “G” very well, is a DGD and I’m sure he will always be a DGD when he moves on from his college career and hopefully to a very successful pro career. Great win today guys! That was fun to watch! Keep chopping! Go Dawgs!
What a great story and so glad Nate returned to just having fun and playing for live of the game. You’re so right @BornADawg the simplistic beauty of amateur sport is gone, or at least we think so, until a story like Nate Frazier reminds us NIL/TP haters that there are still kids playing for love of the game. Frazier has a certain burst about him. Some backs wait to find a gap or lane, but he has like an almost sprint take off from the handoff about him. Fun to watch. He ran well against FL last week but didn't have the same opportunity against the DL. That TD run today was impressive as he blew past that secondary.

One of many downsides of NIL.
On the other hand, it seems to me that plenty of professional athletes seem to have a strong love for their game and exhibit enjoyment of their sport, so I don't know. It's complicated.
That's me thinking out loud. I'm certainly not arguing with you.
The kid Nate said yesterday, “Pay attention to my line. It was not me at all. It was my offensive line. I give all credit to my offensive line,” Frazier said. They can get anything they want from me. They can take my NIL money. It’s all like that. Whatever they want, they got it. It was not me. It was them.”
Within five minutes he got calls from his parents, his agent, and his financial advisor.
Kirby's done a remarkable job of team culture creation in this world of disparate NIL money. It's wonderful to see the kids having fun and celebrating each other and the fun they're having playing great ball and winning games.
