I was curious about this myself… and was going to post an additional PoV, until I realized @Augustadog gave the right answer!

Kirby went with another gamble last year against Texas as well in the SECCG with the fake punt from the UGA 30 yard line, tied 13 to 13 in the 4th Qtr. Gutsy calls……

That goes back to a point in a different article. Kirby's guts! It was definitely a risky move. My wife came home from the game terribly excited, saying "it was like they just did that for fun!"

I was home, so had the advantage of CKS's halftime remarks about being aggressive, but kept my mouth shut… It was a risk. A ballsy risk, but a risk nonetheless. A risk that paid off. It's wild that we have the utmost respect for our coaches when it goes the way the expect it to (the osk) and question them when it doesn't (c. jones v alabama). In the end, everything about this game just points to why I still think CKS is the greatest coach in CFB today. Honestly, I don't think I realized that Jones was from TX. Doesn't matter, 'cuz he's GA boy now!!!

God Bless you and Thank You so much for your honorable and dedicated service. Please Know that you and your brothers and sisters at arms that served in Vietnam are not forgotten.

I had the distinct honor and privilege to serve veterans of all our military service branches. I served veterans from the time frame of before WWII and veterans all the way from that era to 2009 when my own health issues drove me into retirement. I started off as a Veterans Benefit Counselor in Macon serving Bibb, Crawford, Jasper, and Monroe counties, myself and two other men.

After about seven years there I transferred to Eastman serving Bleckley, Dodge, and Pulaski counties and retired as Office Manager. But I only managed myself as it was a one person Office !! 😀 I was employed by the State Of Ga. Veterans Service, Not the VA. We assisted veterans in applying for, monitoring and if necessary appealing their claims to VA and also Ga. has some state benefits for veterans.

I met some absolutely incredible people in my line of work. True Hero’s !! Men and women that gave their All for our great country. And I served the widows and survivors of those who paid the ultimate sacrifice. Many of the True stories I heard ( and read because I had their official records) tore my heart to pieces. The statement Freedom is Not Free is so very true. We would all fare well to Remember the past and keep a keen eye on the future.

So again Thank You for your service to our country. I thank All of our veterans here with the upmost of sincerity and respect. I encourage you to visit the State Of Georgia Veterans Service Office that serves your area. Just do a search on the internet State If Georgia Department If Veterans Service and you can get the field office information for your area. If you live in a different state it might be called Commission rather than Department but All states have a similar agency. And the services are free.

Prior to my 15 years with Veterans service I worked with the Department of Corrections for almost 12 years and hated every second of it !! And of course prior to that I was in USN for eight years.

God Bless and protect our active duty military, reserves, national guard, veterans, fire fighters, law enforcement, EMTs, Medical Pros, and Everyone who works for a living or retired from working for a living either from time in or disability and those preparing themselves to enter the work force !! 😀
