Its on mike bobo. Nc state and penn figured out how to throw for yards.
these next two games gunna be rough yall.
We sure coulda used some recovery.
Indeed, NC St & Pitt figured it out….with all of the WR's we have…we only got production from….one, Branch and RB/WR Bell and two RB's…..different players provide different looks/problems for the cover guys to deal with….where the hell were the TE's…other than run blockers??? When we use Branch as a decoy, Thomas, Bell, et al seem to get open, plus Gunner was holding the ball too long waiting then forcing it….high percentage quick strikes to WR's/TE's seemed like a way to open up the tight Tech coverage ….IMO???? One last critique…."razzle dazzle" ONLY works when executed quickly and flawlessly….it also helps when playing a D that is smart enough to trick by getting them to over react…..The Brent Key Meathead Bees ain't that D.
Face it: Stockton is not a good passer. Can't seem to hit the medium to long range passes with any consistency. Worse: he's still making bone-headed decisions.
Let's quit pretending Bobo is a good OC. He's as predictable as the sun rising in the East.
Please stop with the its Bobo’s fault stuff. It was a terrible game by Stockton period. Doesn’t mean he’s not a good QB or anything personal to call a bad performance a bad performance. He looked lost, made poor decisions with the ball, took high risks with his running style (GT was clearly trying to hurt him when he ran), and made bad passes to receivers. Can’t spin it any other way; a very poor performance. He is QB1 and on to the next game. He has that mentality and has skills and he will be better next time. Go DAWGS
the pass blocking wasn’t there last night and Gunner was in panic mode in the pocket. Give credit to Tech but the Georgia offense was anemic last night.
OK and with all respect please don’t twist what I say here. Gunner had a terrible game. Probably the worst he’s had this season. Please reread That part. No excuses.
But there are factors that make This game much different. It’s a heated and hate full rivalry. Bent Key as much as said Last year that they were gonna put in Extra practices Just for UGA.
Having Buster Faulkner on there staff is invaluable to GT when playing UGA he knows the Dawgs inside out.
GT has former Dawgs that were made Warriors at UGA first they are of help to GT.
GT Always plays their Best game vs UGA, Always. The history of the rivalry Cleary shows that. The vast majority of the games have been fierce struggles Not blowouts by Either team in terms of history.
These are facts Not excuses. Gunner did have a Terrible game. But as we’ve seen this season he usually follows up with a better performance.
NO One wants to win more than that young man. I’m amazed he’s not seriously injured he took quite a few utterly wicked hits !! I think three were like body slams in wrestling !!
Some what I believe is sound advice I wouldn’t read to much into the Next game based on the vs GT game. Each game is unique on its own. Note how Gunner didn’t even vaguely try to shift blame, he took it All on him as he should and as his character shows he would. Go Dawgs !!
Not to mention Tech was not giving our WR a cushion, they were playing them tight which did't create great throwing opportunities for Gunner, b/c our boys were not creating separation for Gunner, but Gunner was putting them in there too, just got to catch it and also got to catch a break from the refs not calling any PI calls on tech. I shoulder this game more on the WR not getting it done.
Lastly, I strongly feel Bobo wasn't going to show much of the playbook this game knowing he could beat Tech with a simple gameplan, knowing there was a high percent possibly to be playing in the SEC Champ game the following week.
To Lexi33, how can you say Gunner ain't that good of a QB. It was only 24 hours ago he was considered a Heisman. SMH.
Interesting take. I would love to hear your opinion on Buster Faulkner asan O C. His play calling led to 9 points and fewer yards than Bobo.
I'm in celebration mode. Still, there are things to talk about.
What was the main difference between the first half, where our offense did pretty well, and the second half, where our offense stayed in the locker room?
According to me, the second half offensive line performance, and the second half blocking in general, suffered. A good little bit of the decline in OL/blocking can be attributed to the loss of our great starting center, Drew Bobo. Man, we need him back!
That said, there were times when our run blocking was quite good. Nate Frazier didn't have all those great little runs all by himself. He had plenty of help from his blockers. Our run blocking game just wasn't consistent, particularly not from half to half. Our pass blocking was more consistent, I think, but not very good.
I hope Drew Bobo's injury was minor and will be quick to fully heal. He's had a great season.
It's the job of Drew's dad, Mike Bobo, to prepare Gunner for our opponent. Mike and Gunner share responsibility for that task. They certainly know our defense saved the day against Tech, and they know there's a lot of work to be done before our next opponent
I've not rewatched the game, so these are impressions from only one look at what happened in the Benz, but what about this regular season as a whole.
Guys, the main thing that happened yesterday was we won. If any team hates Georgia and wants to beat us more than they want anything else, it's Georgia Tech. Georgia Tech also came into the game with a very highly ranked offense, and an elite, tough, hard-to-stop quarterback. How'd Haynes King & Company do against Georgia this year compared with last season? Our offense didn't look great, but they looked a good little bit better than Tech's. Some of that of course was due to our defense, a defense which was good enough to earn not just the victory, but also a good many style points.
Not gushing on our offensive performance against Tech here, but Stockton & Friends put up enough points to win the game which is their main job description.
Guys, going into this season very few predicted we'd end the regular season with fewer than two or three losses. We're headed for the SEC Championship Game. We're headed for the playoffs. We have won eleven games in the regular season.
Go, Dawgs!
It's football folks. Sometimes this is how it goes. We won, put it behind us and move on.
One target to a tight end, and it was an interception?
Well said !! As usual for you !! Go Dawgs !!
