Never know when hard work will pay off. Super happy for this guy. Lots of Freshman had to step up this year.

Heard some good things about this kid in the preseason. Kirby has these youngsters playing at a high level now. The media of the north just does not get how good the Dawg's defense is now. The freshman LB Walker is really something as well.

They did a great job of tackling except on the TD bama scored. Bama should have only had 3 pts in that game. Proud of the D for stepping up

It would be nice to see Kirby integrate the freshman players in with the first team in meaningful games. It will give them game time experience. It would give them game film to evaluate the players with experienced players and not with other inexperienced players during blowouts. The older players or experienced players can coach them along by playing alongside them. It would also force the older players to be leaders because now they would have some accountability.

Isn’t Everette the only db of significance who is out of eligibility? Defensive backfield should be a big strength for next few years.

Perhaps, but I'm thinking it would have been a blowout save the two penalties by Demello….the good news….it was a phenomenal learning experience for DJ, a player well on his way to becoming ELITE….as well as the whole TEAM that cost The Dawgs nothing….and hey, in the pantheon of unthinking penalties accrued by past Dawgs…..nothing could rise to the level of the now Best Receiver in the NFL…..George Pickins water bottle penalty!
