Georgia validates hot start with SEC-opening OT win over Aubur
Georgia wonât have to wait long to have a shot at topping it and earning more validation, as a trip to play defending national champion Florida (7 p.m., Tuesday) is on deck.

Great win, no doubt, but the game should've never went into OT. DAWGS had a 2 possession lead with 5.2 seconds left in regulation. Auburn inbounds the ball, then the DAWGS commit a foul on auburns 3 point attempt, auburn makes 2 FT's, then misses the 3rd..intentionally, they get the rebound, put it back up and in to tie the game with the clock showing 0:00, OT here we come. The DAWGS hung tough, and won in OT, but as I said, the game should've never had to go into OT. Especially when the DAWGS were up by 9 at 1 point in the 2nd half.
Agree it should not have gone into overtime. In my opinion, the foul call on Auburn 3 point attempt at end of regulation was very questionable. After releasing ball, Auburn player leaned back into Georgia player drawing contact that did not affect the shot. Glad DAWGS bucked up for win. I think they - players other than Cyril - will have to rebound better to be a contender.
even not playing well in the first half, the Dawgs cranked up the intensity in the 2nd half. Very proud of this team, so far this season. They rarely beat Auburn. Now to take down KenSucky this season, that would truly show the growth of this team. GO DAWGS!!
It was a phantom foul —- Wilkinson didn't appear to touch him, but he should not even have reached — White said good lesson to learn in win
If you're going to call timeout with 5 seconds left and a 4 point lead then I would assume you reminded your kids that there is no such thing as a four point shot therefore do not contest any shot under any circumstances, poor coaching almost cost us the game.
It wasn't pretty, but a decent win. Auburn is a solid team in a good conference. Take care of the ranked Gators on Tuesday, and I believe we truly have something. Go Dawgs!
Somto Cyril is a beast. If not for his 3 blocked shots in the last few minutes, it might have been a different outcome.
Mike, it looked to me like Blue came closer to fouling him than Wilkinson did . I think it was Blue in front of the Auburn player? To me, Wilkinson from the TV camera view looked almost behind the Auburn guy. I didn't see a foul either, but up by 4, let em go with 5.2 seconds left, contest it from a distance lol even if he hits the 3, they still have to have an inbounds blunder ( 5 second call, or a steal) by UGA to have a chance with very little time left on the clock. That was a gift to Auburn, and they took advantage of it. Glad Cyril is a DAWG, without him in OT, DAWGS probably dont win this game.

Got to like a coach that's willing to make changes to win.
