Missing the semi-finals three years in a row is nothing close to a slide UNLESS we're entitled to be in the semis. NIL and Free Agency has levelled the talent distribution and unlike mercenary programs, I believe we'll be right back in the playoffs this season because high school recruiting still matters and we still do that very well.
I can't disagree, however, the problem that must be solved is that the portal provides a wider avenue for success within the current season, while recruiting HS talent depends on time for development…..this years Dawgs shed light on the solution…recruit talent that is at such a high level….young men who not only have highly developed skills but who possess the maturity and commitment to work as a TEAM rather than an individual…..look at the starting freshmen this year….we need more and then accentuate with portal talent of the same calibre……paid talent might win once but it's unsustainable for the long run….always avoid talent that demands money for commitment.
