"Four weeks off was a killer for this group!"

Yup seems to be tough for dem dawgs with that much time off. Winning the SEC was nice tho :-)

the defensive backfield should be a strength next year, with the only significant loss being Everette. If ER IV continues to improve like he did through this season, I see him being the lockdown CB in the mold of Kamari Lassiter. Jones, on the other side could also be a good 1v1 cover guy. If the kid from Clemson comes through, he and KJ will make a good safety pairing, and the star going to Dinkins, who still needs some improvement but has a bright future if he does so.

I love the optimism. Might not hurt in all this planning to have good backups as well.

Forgot about Hall since he's been out injured for so long. Defense should be able to hold its own next season.

Much more concerned about our OL and WR rooms.

This is more of a general portal related topic, but if you haven't already read it, check out the article from CBS sports - (College football's transfer portal has spun out of control). In terms of both the portal guard rails and calendar, there needs to be swift action, imo, to improve the system. It's something I've felt strongly about and it's good to see an article like that one. I'm very thankful for the DGDs who are staying.

The Kirby Smart era is not unlike the Mark Richt era. When Richt first arrived, his first years were fantastic. Then complacency set in and we rode the long decline. The Smart era is no different. It peaked in 2021, but each year since has basically been less than the year before. I would not be surprised if UGA does not see the CFP again for awhile. Football programs, just like all biological organism, have life cycles. As soon as something stops growing, it starts dying.
