Indiana's only projected 1st round draft prospect is Mendoza. Probably pick #1 by Vegas.
Indiana has about (8) potential draft prospects which is more than their combined NFL drafted players from 2017-2024!
Dawgs have more NFL caliber players on their team and will have more players drafted than Indiana.
But the Dawgs were knocked out after Round 1 the last 2 years. The SEC hasn't even been in the Championship game in 4 years.
What does that say about how there is more than one way to build a Championship roster?
Overall, Elite coaching skills & Experience trumped talent for Indiana.
Spot on Montana but the big programs also have more of what I’ll call a Beck syndrome and less of a Stockton syndrome .
Montana, I agree. It seems like the playbook that's working nowadays is age. I believe the age of the starting line-up for Indiana was 23 and Miami was 21 - 22.
I just wonder if we are at a point where we'll have a farm league in college football: Freshmen get recruited by GA Southern, transfer to a mid-tier school (GT…) and then to UGA to start their junior year.
The reality is that folks like Mendoza (who seems like a great young man) don't get drafted without a cinderella season like this one's, so we'll see people using up all of their eligibility to try and have that Joe Burrow @ LSU type season.
Player development really isn't seeming to factor in like it once did.
not any more he doesn't. Kiper has 4 UGA guys going in the first 2 rounds with Monroe Freeling the only first rounder at something like #27.
