Warms my heart that Coach Smart is looking to improve the pass rush after 10 years of not worrying about it.

His best D lines always got good pressure from the inside, and I expect that to improve this season as well, but yes I agree there are times when you just have to get home on the pass rush. I look for the defense to be stout from the start this year, I just hope the offense can make a jump comparable to to that.

Some of it is people, some is scheme. He added one guy from Auburn, which will help. With all the recruits, one is bound to step up. And we have at least one or two from last year.

Obviously Kirby is well aware of the problems and question marks for UGA going into this season. Though he Is a defensive minded guy I’m sure he’s also well aware of the same on O. And I’m confident he will be doing as much as he can to either solve or greatly diminish those issues.
Him being a great defensive guy I Trust him to make the right hire for LBs Coach. I’m also excited about the new O Line Coach. All said I Believe our Dawgs have just as much potential to do great things as any other team. Go Dawgs !!

    Sack numbers under UzoD

    2025 - 20 2024 - 37 2023 - 30 2022 - 35

    The 2021 team total was an astounding 49… 32 in the wuhan shortened 2020 season. 2019 - 31 2018 - 24 2017 - 34 2016 - 29

That’s one heck of a dropoff but more to the point made by several posters here, we can argue scheme and personnel all we want, the bottom line is in all those high sack years the common denominator was a Jordan Davis type **** in the middle of that Dee…both Miami and Indy had one this year Ohio st last year Michigan the year before. Control the middle control the game…

Hopefully Jarvis for the win .

To your point, Gramster…..Nnamdi Ogboko and Nasir Johnson have similar physical dimensions as JD….. what's missing is a developer…..Jarvis Jones…..Legendary DGD sack leader, NFL experience, Dawg coaching experience, Georgia HS connection as a winning coach……I'm sure he'd come for less than UzoD was paid and deliver 100% more results.

How about Davin as new LC Coach? **** (Very) Good Dawg, and his show is a breath of fresh air from most of the talking head doofuses out there.

I honestly think that we have true freshmen that will contribute nicely from the very start comes game one. I also think that At Least three out of the TP will contribute nicely for the team. Combine those two factors with the Once young but no longer young guys from last year and Dawgs should be a formidable force !! I’d love to see Jarvis Jones get the coaching job. He has all the tools to be a great coach !! Like All Dawgs fans I want them to win another Ntl. Title. And I Believe they can. But look the Dawgs won 12 of 14 games only losses were one by 3 points the other by 5 points. So if the Dawgs can Improve Some on both sides of the ball that alone should get them a more successful year. But again like All Dawgs fans I want them to improve more than just Some. And I think it’s doable. Go Dawgs !!

Jarvis Jones, to me, is the obvious answer. One heck of a football player, and I hear the kids who play for him in High School really love him.

Welcome troll, we're so glad to have you, feel free to hang around at least until Florida gets a relevant football program again…Aaron Philo for DJ Lagway? That sounds like a great trade, warms Coach Smart's heart I'm sure…

It's not the coach. It's the scheme and the defensive play calling. And maybe the recruits (driven by the scheme).

UGA defense is stop the run 1st. Unfortunately CFB has evolved into pass 1st offensively.

I don't blame CKS for being Iceman (see Top Gun). When CKS typically has a better team you don't take the risks. You let the other team make the mistakes.

However you must have the capability and adjust when you play other top tier teams.
