When Mike Bobo was on stage to be recognized as one of the top assistant coaches in college football, the Georgia offensive coordinator spent most of the time passing credit to those around him: his father, his wife and the Georgia coaching staff.

Please, give me a break. Bobo is bad news for UGA. We will never sniff another Natty as long as he's on the payroll. Bank it.

Gimme a break! Dawgs stuck in doom loop until we have a new OC and play caller. This man single handedly cost us the Ole Miss playoff game with some of the most inexplicably bad play calling we’ve ever seen, particularly in the second and third quarters when we had a chance to put the hammer down.

Seems like I remember that, “Bank it” remark before. As in “UGA will never win a Natty with Stetson Bennett at QB. Bank it!” That was you in 2021, right? Maybe if Bobo gets a defense and an O-Line like those in 2021 and 2022, he’ll win it all. Bobo almost did in 2023, but then in the SECCG, he fumbled a handoff on a jet sweep and gave Bama a 1st and goal. Bobo also threw a couple of pics in that game, a 3-point loss. Wait, those weren’t Bobo’s dreadful turnovers, after all.

Really like Coach Bobo, I guess some of these naysayers have much greater insight than Coach Smart and all the College football voters who selected Coach Bobo in the top 3 coordinators in the entire country.

Whether one is, or is not, a fan of Coach Bobo, I’m having difficulty believing he’s one of the three best assistant coaches in America. Yes, at times, his play calling is excellent. Unfortunately that excellent play calling often occurs when we’re behind on the score board. Yes, at times his play calling is down right puzzling. That bad play calling often happens when we’re ahead, like with a 21-12 lead against Ole Miss. The play calling in the second and third quarters was not good. That pattern happens too often. He, at least I think it’s him since he’s the OC, often gets very conservative when we have the lead, especially in big games.

As pointed out by others, our offensive foibles are not solely Coach Bobo’s fault, but he certainly deserves some of the blame. If I can predict the play he’s about to call, I’m reasonably sure the coaches on the other sideline also can. My main complaint is the repeated runs up the middle when everybody knows that’s what is coming. Of course, using Cash, one of my favorite players btw, on short yardage made zero sense and costs us the regular season game against Bama. The poor play calling in the middle of the Ole Miss playoff game certainly was instrumental, along with some pretty wacko defensive strategy, in that loss as well.

Sure, we all trust Kirby in general. However, it’s at least possible, maybe probable, that his loyalty to his old roommate and long time friend clouds his judgement when it comes to Coach Bobo. Maybe, maybe not. Obviously, I don’t know all the whys, but Coach Bobo is not as good an OC as Todd Monken was. Yes, I understand Monken had better players, but he also called better plays.

Does anyone remember "rebuilding year"? The Dawgs had a pretty good year with all the young guys and key injuries. I agree that Coach Bobo is predictable and it frustrates me when he calls back to back, same formations.

Some of the problem, I feel, should be addressed in the spring, by practicing many innovative plays, as well as the bread and butter plays.

It would be great to hire an experienced former college, former pro quarterback, with impeccable KSA's to add to the Offensive staff, say as, Quarterback's Coach. Anyone know a candidate?

    Go Dawgs!!!

Blinded by your own making. The cash comment proved it. Or unaware of all of the facts

Stop comparing to Monken. He had better players and a much better defense every year. Period. And the defense bailed him out many games when the offense ****. If not for the defense and Bowers and McConkey, the same people loving Monken would have been hating on him too! Bobo is not close to perfect but he can put up points just like Monken and if he had the playmakers and defense Monken had, he would have won it all then too. Even then it took some miracles, like Ohio State in the playoffs. Stetson, Brock, Ladd, Davis, Carter, shall we go down the roster on both sides of the ball?

Nick Saban won NC's with 5 different OC's. Let that sink in.
