Hey folks - as a member of the DawgNation community, please remember to abide by simple rules of civil engagement with other members:
- Please no inappropriate usernames (remember that there may be youngsters in the room)
- Personal attacks on other community members are unacceptable, practice the good manners your mama taught you when engaging with fellow Dawg fans
- Use common sense and respect personal differences in the community: sexual and other inappropriate language or imagery, political rants and belittling the opinions of others will get your posts deleted and result in warnings and/ or banning from the forum
- 3/17/19 UPDATE -- We've updated the permissions for our "Football" and "Commit to the G" recruiting message boards. We aim to be the best free board out there and that has not changed. We do now ask that all of you good people register as a member of our forum in order to see the sugar that is falling from our skies, so to speak.

Sounds like both are going to learn a lesson from this, after reading their statements..GoDAWGS!
Athens-Clarke County PD strikes again!
I don’t get your point. Athens-Clarke County PD are doing their sworn duty and that is to uphold the law. Most of us believe no one is above the law and when someone potentially endangers an innocent persons life through carelessness and reckless driving, they need to be charged accordingly. The lesson they hopefully have learned may just save another persons life, maybe even their own. Glad to see both stood up and took responsibility. Thats a bid step towards becoming a responsible adult.
ACCPD, CC Sheriff's Dept, Campus Police, GA St Patrol, GBI, FBI, ATF, DEA…..121 sq miles Clarke County has more LEO's per sq mi than anywhere else in Georgia….you'd think the message would get out, you'd think UGA's tragic traffic history would be a constant reminder, you'd think that with NIL these guys would have Uber on speed dial, I'm absolutely sure that Kirby & Company's repentance requirements will make whatever CC DA can throw at these poor young men will wither & pale in comparison…..you'd think the message would get out?
I've said that myself, Athens is full of law enforcement agencies. You cant drive 1 mile in Athens without encountering some type of law enforcement. Either in marked cars, or those in vehicles that show no clue of being a law enforcement vehicle. Athens is definitely not the town to chance your luck with the police lol
So, if a female student at UGA, in her 2013 Kia 4dr sedan, breaks the speed limit in Athens, a misdemeanor, she gets handcuffed, and arrested? I don’t believe it, not for a minute.
So two people are arrested in the same incident. I’m pretty sure a car can only have one driver at a time so, going out on a limb here, I’d guess there were two drivers in two cars. Exceeding the maximum speed, that sounds like racing.
No one gets arrested for reckless driving or speeding unless they are DUI, which this article could mention, so I’m going with racing.
Those statements were written by someone's (Agent, UGA, other) PR team. They're nearly identical & also similar to every announcement from a player about transferring, ("I'll always appreciate the UGA coaches, staff, etc."). Players don't write this stuff.
If Kirby could fix the problem of 18-22 year olds breaking the law, then he should run for mayor.
Or Governor..
Very true, hopefully they follow through on those statements.
These are misdemeanors by college students. Why is Dawgnation, the AJC, and "Connor Riley" even embarrasing the students and our university by reporting this, blowing it up into some felonious BS? Connor Riley seems to specialize in this sort of **** reporting. I don't want to see it. I do not want it reported. If Connor Riley got a similar citation, would it be reported like this? Well, that should be his litmus test in the future. We need to find true UGA reporters who care about the program, the players, the university, and its fan base instead of ambulance chasing mercenaries.
If you want to find someone to blame for these speeding tickets being issued by Clark County police, then blame the liberal federal judges and liberal politicians who broke the old university scholarship model and forced upon us a pseudo-professional college football league. These young kids get big money when their cognitive brains are not fully developed. They buy big powerful cars with the money and whammy! They use the cars to go faster and faster…. Simple as that. Our nation is in dire straits, and this is just on of many, many indicators.
Until we find out more, there's nothing to see here.
