ATHENS â Kirby Smart is all about his team building and player connection, and the head coach indicated college footballâs move to one transfer portal has made for a more efficient offseason.

“Per the new legislation, the head coach is not required to be included, and programs can’t have more than 10 of their 16 designated off-campus recruiters on the road at the same time.”
Sounds good, but who’s keeping track? It’s impossible to keep track of this for a 150 schools. Plus, what’s the penalty if you get caught?
The new proposed “tampering” rule sounds good. However, the penalties should be harsher. The player who transfer in violation of the proposed rule should lose a year of eligibility. Other penalties should be added as well, including that losing 5 roster spots. Just think about it, SMU got the “death” penalty for doing less than Pete Golding has already done in less than 3 months.
