A change long overdue…we have always been furious during the fourth quarter of every G-Day game when Scott Howard would talk about how he couldn't wait to get it over and get out of there - Mr. Howard there are Dawg fans out here who love the 4th quarter when some of the subs get to shine. Sorry if if was ruining your day. I would assume that a few of the higher-ups in the Dawg universe didn't sense he really felt that way about some of the live games as well.

i am not sure how I feel about the change, as I like them both. Just can’t understand the self censorship in this article and on Dawgnation Daily to not discuss the controversy. .I thought the purpose of this site was to discuss what Dawg fans are talking about?

What about Hondo and Linsey? Will they still be involved?

In the article Jeff mentioned he will still do the Hilltop Grill segments with KB. I hope that's the case.

If you're a Dawg fan at all, you know exactly what it's going to be like with Dantzler and Stinchcomb—we've heard them both for years.

big mistake. Nothing wrong with Scott. Must be the same brain that thought hiring Mike Bobo was a good idea

I like the change, although I know many Dawg fans don’t. I was often frustrated by the lack of sufficient details of exactly what was going on when listening on the radio. Of course, following Munson wouldn’t be easy for anyone. We’ll have to wait and see if the new duo is better, but I’m thinking improvement is likely. Hope I’m not wrong.

The Stinchcomb brothers are exceptional whether playing football for UGA and professionally, broadcasting, or simply living life. I very much look forward to Jon being a significant part of the game day announcing for 2026. I consider Matt to be the best color commentator at the collegiate level.

Scott Howard and Josh Brooks were great! Somebody always has to be changing ^^^^!

I am amazed that people on here badmouth Scott Howard. He was 100% Dawg and his passion came through in every broadcast and every call.
I can’t tell you who to prefer because that’s not my place but saying anything negative about him is incredible. I like Dantzler but would not have pulled this move.
I had no feel for Josh. I hated losing Zeier but didn’t have Josh long enough to gauge. He got screwed, as well.

Scott Howard was fired. And it was wrong.

This article does nothing to explain why a loyal, talented, dedicated professional like Scott howard was so disrespected by bring unceramoniously removed.

The bigger story here is NOT Dantzler. It's the administration treating Scott this way with no explanation...NOTHING.

And then this article makes NO attempt to find out. Poor journalism. Scott even said he didn't know and it was not his decision. I would tell them to go pound sand.

Then, we have people saying it's long overdue. Bull. You like a blowhard like JD. Stinchcomb is fine. Just hope he doesn't have to provide color commentary for JD when he asks a female student what color underwear they have on

Can you say suspended for inappropriate behavior. Scott is a professional not a little man being misogynistic on air. He embarrassed the university more than once in other ways too. Look it up

But I guess you look the other way now and stab a loyal employee in the back trading him for a someone who is not worthy of this promotion

    Sad. Embarrassing. SHAMEFUL!

no one here has”badmouthed” Howard, they’ve merely pointed out that too often when listening to the radio broadcast it’s hard to discern certain details of what is happening in the game. The pro-Howard people say he was loyal, dedicated, and passionate. No one disputes that, but it’s not enough. We’re all loyal and passionate, doesn’t mean any of us should be doing play-by-play.

There were too many times where the Dogs make a big play on offense, for instance, and the call is simply, “an amazing catch by Whoever! First down Georgia!” What yard line? Can you try to describe why the catch was amazing? His call of the Prayer at Jordan-Hare is a perfect example. When I finally saw it on replay I remember how shocked I was at how wild the play was. I knew the circumstances of the play, but I had no idea of what had actually happened because i was in the car listening to Howard. All I knew was that the Dogs lost on a Hail Mary, no details.

Other people want to hate Danzler for an inappropriate comment he made on a broadcast while working for the local radio station one afternoon. That was 25 years ago! Show some grace and forgive the guy. He’s clearly redeemed himself by doing a fine job with the baseball and women’s b-ball all these years.

I really think the pro-Howard folks like Howard because they associate his voice with all the good times we’ve had the past ten years. But it’s just an association, doesn’t mean he’s superior at painting a verbal picture of the game

Yes, Scott Howard is a super passionate Dawg. But I think a bigger reason why Old Timers have a huge soft spot for him is that he worked alongside Larry Munson for years. I mean, the man was right next to Munson for the Hobnail Boot call. He's associated with a lot of treasured memories.
