Good show Brandon…I'll say this about Gunner…as long as he knows how to win games then that's really all that matters honestly. If he can take us further than Round 1 of the playoffs then great. Stetson wasn't the best QB in the world and was the 128th pick in the 4th round of the draft. Heck, that was after winning (2) Nattys. Of course, our defense carried the team during the first Natty in 2021, but Stetson did a bang up job both seasons against a whole lot of adversity. But the guys around him made him better. That's what Gunner needs - elite players around him that can make his job easier.

So who cares how good Gunner is when it all comes down to it? As long as he can win then that's what's important to me.

ESPN, Yahoo Sports, and a bunch of other ranking services have Gunner in the Top 7-10 QBs going into 2026. I think he can break into the Top 5 if he really improves his game, but I don't see him getting to #1 under any circumstances. I'd love to be proved wrong.

He's a winner. Stetson was a winner. Stetson had a better supporting D cast and OC. The D gave him back the ball. I haven't seen his stats but I bet he had more reps than Gunner.

If the D and OL shows up for Gunner, he should have more chances to go vertical…if Bobo lets him.

PS I looked and Stetson averaged 30 touches per game in 2022. Gunner averaged 36-37 touches per game. Stetson was more productive.

Somebody is smoking some wacky weed in the studios of Dawgnation! Would I love to see it, absolutely! But TOP QB of 2026? Hmmm.

Gunner does not need to be the best QB in the country, he just needs to be able to step up in the pocket and deliver his layered throws over the linebackers and in front of the safties in zone coverage, or in "The hole" as Kirby says. it also sounds like Bobo is going to let him extend plays and make something happen. With the TE talent there should always be a couple of options for Gunner to throw to on play action, which should get easier to execute with more improvement in the run game. Kirby talked about being more explosive, at UGA that has always begun with the run game. There has not been really explosive backs in the last couple of years, but I believe that #22 Dowdell, and #27 Lamar may change that.
